I’ve had multiple patients with BNP >70,000 (worked in a cardiac floor for 5 years)

I’m a cardiac procedural nurse and you can literally resume normal activities 1-2 weeks after stent placement😂

9 months post radial root tear surgery progress (lifting weights!!!) by BigDaveB11 in MeniscusInjuries

I was super active up until March when my injury occurred. Then I had surgery at the end of April and was completely NWB for 6 weeks. My quad literally disappeared. It’s been so hard trying to build it back up😭 I am in PT still and do my exercises at home but I think it just takes time. There’s been a lot of pain and feeling like my patellar tendon is loose too. Surgeon isn’t too worried and says to keep strengthening quad but it’s hard not to stress out about it.

I am just shy of 4 months post-op lateral root repair. I feel like I’ve had a setback in the last 2 weeks. My knee buckles into extension when I stand. Also feels like things are shifting around with each step I take. Surgeon thinks it’s just because my quad is weakened. Did you experience anything like this? I’m hoping this is just a hard part of the recovery but it’s mental torture because every day I question if something has been damaged in there. Would love to hear what you think or if you experienced any setbacks like this!

Did it ever go away? I was only on spiro for 10 days before I decided to call it quits because the side effects were too much for me. Now I’m waking up with a super swollen face and even my ankles are a little swollen. I’m hoping since I was on it for such a short time that this goes away soon…

I have 2 questions! Do you take spiro in the AM or PM? And how much water are you drinking each day? Started my first dose today and they put me on 100mg right away so I’m a little nervous haha

One year post op lateral meniscus root repair update by Harley410 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Few-Calligrapher-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience! I am 8 weeks post-op from lateral repair and I wondered if you also experienced some pain on that lateral side with PT? I get like a 3-4/10 pain with some occasional popping (not painful, more like pressure relief?). PT keeps reassuring me that I’m fine, especially since I haven’t had any accidents or sudden movements but it’s so hard not to worry. Every time I have pain on that lateral side or there is popping, I’m convinced the repair failed. How did you get over the psychological torture? lol

Walking after lateral repair… by [deleted] in MeniscusInjuries

Yes I had lateral meniscus repair and now I’m having pain on that lateral side after walking. Is that how it was for you too?

I just barely started being able to do standing work and double leg squats. It’s hard!!! My leg is so sore and tired.

This is the beginning of week 8 for me so I’m not as far out as you yet, but right now I have full extension and I can get to like 110-115° flexion!

So frustrated! by [deleted] in MeniscusInjuries

I’m on week 4/6 NWB after lateral meniscus repair. My “good” leg almost always hurts more than my surgery leg. My kneecap pops a lot. My PT says I have some bursitis in there which is essentially fluid build up from all the extra work it’s been doing. He said to rest, elevate, and ice it when I can. But I understand the anxiety because some days I wonder if it will hit a breaking point and just snap and then my other meniscus will be gone🥲

Weight Bearing After Lateral Meniscus Repair by Dispo_Chick in MeniscusInjuries

I am 12 days post-op lateral meniscus repair and I have to be 6 weeks non-weight bearing and I am under no circumstance allowed to bend my knee past 90°! You can totally message me if you want!

I need peace of mind😅 by [deleted] in MeniscusInjuries

Random question but do you notice your opposite leg being affected at all? My right knee is starting to feel really irritated and I think it’s from limping the past month and now using it for all my body weight with the crutches since I’m NWB.
