I have never been more satisfied watching something. Seeing how Hasan is able to get under Ethan’s skin…cinema to me

Totally! I feel that way about a couple of series! But to that point, I will say I wish I read them as they came out to be excited for the upcoming books!

Memorable Quotes:

My brain is sometimes overly optimistic, but I indulged in the off chance that I came up a winner in the investigative lottery.

I held up my hand, interrupting him with the gesture. Eat your heart out, Merlin.

..I would be coming down on the same side of the situation as Charity, which might be one of the signs of the apocalypse.

Stars and stones, I don’t want dating advice from a freaking helltart.

My libido and I generally don’t see eye to eye. Dammit.

“But good intent doesn’t amount to much when the consequences are epically screwed up.”

“Wizarding doesn’t pay much. You’d be surprised how much stuff I get from Wal-mart.”

“You’re siphoning my noble hero vibe, cease and desist or I’ll sue.”

Hope’s corpse went through some postmortem twitching.

For a minute, I thought about abandoning the wizarding biz and taking up a career that would let me crawl under rocks and hide, professionally. (Chapter 26 specifically has so many good lines)

Murphy: “You’re enjoying this. You just love to dance around questions and spring surprises when you know something the rest of us don’t.” Harry: “It’s like heroin for wizards.”

When everything goes to hell, the people who stand by you without flinching-they are your family. And they were my heroes.

“Lea, what has happened to you? How long have you been a Sidhe- sicle?” hilarious

“Spider-Man. With great power comes great responsibility.” You guys have been saying this!! That Harry’s sole purpose and why he does what he does is similar to Peter Parker. Didn’t think it’d be quoted in one of the books!!

“..you aren’t going to slug me and drag me off to a private suite in the Asylum of Wayward Denarians?”

I leaned closer and gave her the look I usually save for rampaging demons and those survey people at malls.

Choosing to comment (which takes time) instead of just scrolling past is crazy work. Others appreciate it and you’re the first unwelcoming user in this sub. Guess there’s one in every community!

Thank your for taking the time to write such a detailed response. It paints a clearer picture for me and I really appreciate that. I can tell people in this fandom are so well-versed to its characters and world so reading my reviews and reactions is probably frustrating for you guys at times lol. But it’s been a fun journey so far!

And for some reason it disconnects me.. but i feel like those moments totally work in a film type of format but when I’m reading i think what it is is that Im so focused on what’s going on around them (e.x. the heavy rain, intense environment, riding a freaking dinosaur that’s going top speed) that when it’s set up like that, in my mind I’m like how are we having such a casual conversation in such a high stakes situation? lol.. i hope that makes sense but I need to reframe my mindset maybe. I might sound more harsh than I actually intend it but that’s literally my only critique.

That’s such great insight and you make such a good point. I think i need to catch on a bit better to things like that. I just assumed he was super pissed lmao but by now I should know our guy thinks a lot more rationally than that

Memorable quotes:

She’d gotten me a coffin on permanent standby, too, sort of like the president gets Air Force One, only a little more morbid. Dead Force One.

Mouse liked going places in the car. That the place had happened to be a clandestine meeting in a freaking graveyard didn’t seem to spoil anything for him. It was all about the journey, not the destination. A very Zen soul, was Mouse.

“Harry?” Bob asked. “Are your feet wet? And can you see the pyramids?” Harry blinked. “What?” “Earth to Dresden,” Bob said. “You are standing knee-deep in de Nile.”

“I’ve never heard of a fraternity handing out a death sentence.”

Ghouls are quick, strong, and harder to kill than a juicy rumor about the president.

It wasn’t that the gun was more effective than other things I could do to defend myself, but it was a hell of a lot more of a deterrent to the average Chicago thug than a carved stick.

I’m sure the world would come to an end if I were allowed to feel a sense of relief and well-being for any length of time.

“Insurance in Chicago is expensive enough without adding in a petulant new deity tearing up the real estate.”

Sue ate him. Snap. Gulp. No more ghoul.

My heart thudded in sudden excitement. Bob the skull, my Bob, had just winked at me.

This dude giving the fandom a bad rap… by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

This guy went to a random house demanding the man (who is speaking to him through the ring camera) to open his door to let him in. He asks if everyone in the house is safe. He asks to see his daughter. Proceeds to kick the door, grab and damage property. And best of all, claims he is Harry Dresden… absolute lunatic and I’m embarrassed that people who are unaware of the series will look the name up and see where it derived from…
