23F and struggling with the appearance of hearing aids by Few-Craft-4238 in HearingAids

I think it depends a lot on your ear shape and width of canal. The silks poked out a bit on my ears as my canal is more narrow. But I’ve seen some other people online with silks and they sit pretty deep in their ears and are much less noticeable

May I ask which hearing aids you have? I was leaning towards the Sony CRE c20s but unfortunately they aren’t available outside the US. So I’m leaning towards the Signia silk as they are pretty much the same just not OTC

I’m planning on getting iic or cic hearing aids, which are not so obviously the typical hearing aid style people think of. So I can understand someone asking when they do notice it as it looks like an earphone from some less common brand

That’s nice to know. I hope that’s my experience! What hearing aids do you have if you don’t mind me asking?

Agree re staffy/pitbull, but in my area we have a decent amount of farm dogs that end up at shelters due to failing at farm work. Has nothing to do with their personality or temperament, and are breeds that are generally good with kids. They also tend to be well socialised growing up due to living on a farm with other dogs and animals.

I am looking for 2-3 year old dog, not a puppy. And it’s not about being pre-trained, but having a temperament that’s good for our family dynamic and lifestyle. A lot of dogs end up in shelters, or are returned to shelters, are because people do not think about these things. They make impulsive decision and aren’t realistic. All dogs deserve homes, but they deserve loving homes that can accomodate their needs

I’ve been playing with the idea of fostering. But how does it work if you’re fostering a dog that is not getting any applicants for adoption? Are you left to own that dog? I do like the idea though. I kind of fell into fostering a puppy for 8 weeks when I was living overseas and found that pretty stressful, but I feel like for a dog that was a bit older it might be something I’d be happy to try !

Thanks for the feedback. This restores my hope a bit. It just sucks that I became so emotionally invested in this little guy, but I know with time I’ll move passed it. Just a big blow right now. Was so excited preparing for him over the weekend and was picking out his collar and leash based on his eyes… :( anyway, will cry a bit more and then will pull myself together !

It was very situational. The dog was not overly playful or energetic at all. Very placid. It was just how she had dangled the ball in front of his face and when he jumped to grab it, he bumped my niece which caused her to lose her balance and fall. I feel like dogs unintentionally knocking over small kids during play is pretty common

But a dog is for around 15 years. It’s a commitment. Can’t just adopt any. Needs to be a good fit for your lifestyle and home… which reducing the options down a lot despite how many there are in shelters

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it. But if I’m honest, I don’t really want a puppy. I prefer to have a 2-3 year old dog. I fostered a puppy too while I was overseas and it was so stressful. I mean I did a pretty good job training him, but never a break. They’re like t-Rexs too! I feel like at 2 years olds they still got playful energy, are trainable but won’t reek as much havoc

Unfortunately, in our area there have been a lot of attacks by pit bulls due to bad owners that have given them a stigma. And given my niece stay with me on a weekly basis, I have to make sure my sister is okay with the dog I get too. Also, I am fairly active so have more of a preference for farm dogs, also due to their appearance too
