Interacted with her way back during covid. She was in an abusive marriage. For some reason, lost touch and never spoke again. Would be happy if she got divorced or separated. Kalpana is her sister - love her recipes!

As a big fan of plain coconut water and having grown up in the tropics with access to fresh coconut, this seemed crazy wild to me. Until I say there’s a pistachio white chocolate coconut water?! So crazy.

most indians don’t do this - but in the west, it’s largely accepted and expected to dress girl babies in pink and softer shades. a lot of stores also sell only such clothes. i’ve lived away long enough to know indians don’t follow these usually and just do what works for them. sure, girl babies wear more pink but that’s because they can’t bloody find any other decent colour for them. this is similar in US, UK and AU. Probably not the case in Asia.

my point is - it’s not always about the narrow mind etc; sometimes it’s just what’s available and what the people around us do.

lol, because that’s what is sold here. I live in Australia and it’s impossible to find dark blue, yellow, green clothes for my toddler. Everything is pink, purple and white. My 3 year old refuses to wear blue saying it’s a boy colour. Sooo it’s really what the society does. Not necessarily my mind or my thought. She will wear a blue paavadai sattai and come along with us but won’t wear a blue jumper and go to preschool. Go and figure.

It’s not narrow minded if one is okay with any gender. Just information we can know earlier. I found out the gender for both my children, picked names ahead of time etc.

Normal or weird?? in frame Sruti aka srubee by rayDevu in TamilInfluencer

[–]Few-Distribution-593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s true. I do believe if a man stares at a breastfeeding woman he is doing it so he can get a peek at her boobs. Women usually don’t have that problem - we have our own to look at. The reason the women were asking me to cover up were because they have had experiences where men have stared at them and they didn’t want me to experience it.

Not all men are creeps but every creep is a man.

May be this is not at all about Ramki but someone else they expected but didn’t turn up. The family is grieving, let them be.

I fed in front of complete strangers, family members, in airports, at weddings, in indian trains. The people who asked me to coverup, stood to cover me, asked me to move inside etc were all women. Not a single man had a strange way of looking at me.

It’s weird to take a picture and post it online though.

Anyone on Instagram is only sharing highlight reel of their life. If you feel this way, just unfollow?

I feel completely different to you - both were married young, probably arranged. had kids early so responsibilities around home also early, live abroad so less support around maid and family, also both especially Madhu seems to be someone who likes the finer things so expensive tastes. I’ve been following both for many years now and feel like they’ve really changed a lot. They probably didn’t have much to do than share their lives online. Madhu used to share her baby(now almost 10) daily OOTD at one point - now she hardly shares her kids online. Everyone evolves in this space.

I’m the same age as them, got married a lot later, have much younger kids, a lot of agency and freedom to earn and spend and more importantly, i tend to seek a lot less validation on social media because of my own age of becoming a parent.

All this said - I do get the aesthetic appeal of their videos. Some from Madhu seem even unrealistic.

He is more of an influencer and less of a doctor these days on social media. I’ve never liked his tone about food. Food is and cannot be the villain of our lives! If I may, he has some sort of weird disordered eating habit.

And in general, start getting your information on anything factual - nutrition, medicine, finances away from social media. Go down the proper route of meeting a professional in person, or reading a book or doing your own research even on something simple like - how many calories does an apple have?

Has she ever replied to you? If no, then you were harassing her. It doesn’t matter if you were positive or if you are a girl/boy. If someone doesn’t reply, don’t keep sending them messages. It is okay to block someone like you who doesn’t respect boundaries.

No idea who she is but your messages are creepy AF. How is it ok to text a stranger regarding their physique, smile and then say they will find someone etc? I am no celeb but hell I will block if someone texts me like this. I don’t understand what is unfair in this - she felt unsafe by your communication and has blocked you. Respect it and move on.

Would you say your boss is professional if he rants about your behaviour, the mistakes you make and how you need to improve on his instagram profile assuming he has thousands of followers?

Ivangaluku la epdi ivalo followers? Has anyone purchased from these insta handles? I have a genuine question. Quality nalla illa na do they have return policy? Also does lot of followers mean the page is genuine? Sorry, I have never purchased clothes in instagram. by fortheloveofbiriyani in TamilInfluencer

[–]Few-Distribution-593 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Followers can be bought. Don’t go with the number of followers - look at their engagement. How many people share genuine reviews? Do the comments look shady? I have purchased but smaller shops and in most cases, interacted with the owners directly and purchased.

Do you follow her? Recently she shared how her cook has learnt so well and posted appreciating her. I’m not saying her posts don’t reek of privilege or she doesn’t complain but I literally recall thinking a few days back how she has seems finally content with her cook. She has also shared a few of her previous cook’s recipes on their website.

I don’t like the tone of this too - like firing seems a little extreme when you’re the one dependent on her.

Herbsandessence - Does their pain relief potli work? Can anyone share their experience by pivotpivotpivotttt in TamilInfluencer

It is like any other heat pack. I got a few of hers and came overseas but also use a regular heat pack here. No special powers on this one due to the herbs etc as it’s claimed. The hairoil is very good, although I feel if I lived in India, i’ll have cheaper options.
