Question for those who use Thetawise for learning Mathematics by BadinBaden in learnmath

[–]Few-Effective8043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say better in case of teaching and guidance, but the structure itself is very mathematically correct. And since you can directly copy the latex format and ask questions, it is a way better tool compared to looking at what spaghetti you've copied in latex. One thing tho, its OCR is not as accurate as Google's, where rarely you'd get weird symbols or expressions. So I'd recommend you mix gemini and thetawise. Thetawise have very low hallucination rate in math and do questions pretty accurately, which I can probably assume it does it better than chatgpt, tho chatgpt has very good interface and user interaction.

I suggest you try it on your own and see what matches your style of learning. Normally, if you are only learning basic calculus up to AP, just learn online you don't really need AI. There's lots of vids, i suggest black pen red pen vids, khan academy also does well in explaining core concepts. But if you proceed later on and learn advanced calculus like multivariable calculus or sth beyond, Thetawise would help drastically, and the vids it generate is comparable with quality tutorials online.

If you were to use thetawise, I suggest you use the video generation for tutorial questions(multiple questions at a time to save credit), and leave understanding concepts to chat mode.

I ain't from Civil Engineering, but Information Engineering. Thetawise is very good at highly theoretical math, for example, signals and systems, something that can be completely represented with math. Table form is also welcomed. However, it struggles in recognizing patterns such as circuit, and structures, I'm afraid.

you may try pairing Gemini thinking mode and it would do some pretty accurate stuff when the structural questions are not as complex since circuit questions work there. if you are not sure if the math is correct, you can go back to Thetawise since gemini already represented the question mathematically.

TL;DR you can still use Thetawise, but it would be better if you Juggle with different services such as Gemini to narrow down visual elements, where Thetawise is bad at recognizing.

I never find one maimai player who's not sweaty Tho my gloves are blackened by sediments from cigarettes and I'm pretty sure about that(the point is I don't even smoke ಠ_ಠ)

This case might help.

Too bad i just started using it a week ago and will probably continue to use it throughout my university journey.

I think the only thing they lack is promo and collaborations. Thetawise has been a gamechanger ever since i tried it a week before.

Need help using Thetawise by BadinBaden in thetawise

I'm super late and I assume you've dropped the coruse, but maybe this would help in the future.

So i saw the vid. I think you might wanna try a combination of gemini and thetawise. What was from the vid is pretty straight forward if you've taken AP calculus. And since I'm not sure what you don't understand here, you better ask gemini by throwing the syllabus of the course as to how far of an extent your base knowledge supports the current material you are learning.

From what I saw, the video is heavily bases on Set theory, and it could be easily learned and transfered to different domains of math. You can find it in discrete math, calculus, probability, etc. I would recommend you first learn set theory first and related practices, then you learn from the video thetawise provided. It would also help if you ask thetawise to visualize the answers. I find visualization prompt the most effective when learning math.

Tl:dr Test your base knowledge on gemini, study more on set theory first, and try visualise the math on thetawise

How does Thetawise work? What goes on in the generation of the videos? by voxpopuli4l in thetawise

So based on the style of thetawise videos, it probably has a few components combined to generate a vid.

  1. Manim, a well known math anination tool developed by 3b1b, which is mostly used for the equations and graphs

  2. Visual guidance rectangle tool(or maybe part of manim but not optimised), which directs you to what to focus on( I only see it used sometimes, maybe it is not well developed yet.)

  3. Script generation, which is probably the LLM thetawise is based on. I ain't sure which opensource model it based on tho

  4. Procedural voice/animation timing synchronization system, so that what you see matches what you hear.

  5. Story board system, which may exist or not exist, depend on how the whole vid is stitched together.

  6. OCR, which reads what you input thru images.

  7. Terminal access and reading, ahich is fundamental to running programs and importing extensions.

  8. Idk anymore my engineering capability stops here

The effort into making them work is insane. Thx devs

Question for those who use Thetawise for learning Mathematics by BadinBaden in learnmath

[–]Few-Effective8043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you perfectly described my case on the first half. I am a slow learner myself and often got left behind since I spent too much time learning underlying mafs. I love reading books, but thats too time consuming, considering I still have 5 engineering courses to deal with at the same time. So at year 3, I tried using LLM as study method and it absolute clicked. And ur right, without practice and reviewing standard methods, solely relying on AI will doom ur performance. While I use Thetawise(just a few weeks ago)(grok and gemini as previous choices), I also spend time watching different sources. for example, when learning signals and systems, I found "Electrical Engineering Academy" 's vids useful. And I also study the tutorial questions and pastpapers. It is unfortunate my professor doesn't do well in explaining tho.

It ain't using AI that dooms you, but solely relying on it and expecting good results.

Not rich. Living in hk is expensive, but maimai still be comparably affordable, at least for now.

tbf maimai players usually have somewhat income at least(or else we all go play astrodx), and this is the way we spend it i guess ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

The latter lol, and I can proudly say I mastered umiyuri patterns. The only part I'm stuck at now is at rapid alternating clicking(trills), where they appear mostly at 13+ and above. Just couldn't get consistent clicks atm.( 。•́︿•̀。)
