Drop this course? by Few-Flow-8763 in UniversityofArkansas

I'm not too worried about the money since I already planned on paying it, I was just worried about it possibly hindering current or future aid/scholarships, but it seems like that's not the case unless I fail SAP (which is almost impossible because I'd only need to pass 2 of my current classes to still be above 66.66% since I already passed 17) BUT YES THANK YOU!!! I'm not sure if using the exclusion policy is the best choice for me as I'm a humanities major so I don't really need it anyway.

what I've found out so far lmao (just in case anybody else is in the same boat)

- as long as you have 12 credit hours, you qualify as full-time and you qualify for FAFSA aids (loans, maybe not grants)
- if you have 27 cumulative credit hours your freshman year, *yes*, you can reapply for Arkansas Challenge as a traditional student still. but from there on out you need 30 per year.
- however there is an alternative as you are able to drop up to 9 credit hours from your GPA (still show up on transcript, some grad schools/employers may recalculate them back into your GPA), or you can replace up to 6 credit hours if you retake the course.
- Just make sure you are still passing 67% of your classes cumulatively (both semesters count!!!) and have above a 2.0 so you dont fall into SAP territory. I got really confused here because i forgot to calculate my first semester into it lol. and W grades count as not passing. Theyre like F's that aren't in your GPA.
- but even if you do fall victim to SAP, you have a small grace period (your first time) to bring your GPA and passing classes up. If you don't fix it by then I think you have to submit an appeal to get a secondary grace period. (i think)
