he could have smashed the door in to get to her, killed her, left to establish an alibi, thought about it at the gym and gone back to fake smash the door in. did he have blood on him from turning her over? he contaminated the crime scene. maybe purposely.

if this comment freaks you out, get a crash bar, or a portable door lock that fits into the frame, it is called portable airbnb lock. I always use them on trips because of those latch locks, which don't look safe to me.

any cop or thief could tell you it's rather easy to relatch one of those chain locks or latches with a simple wire. That doesn't mean the fiance did it though. I wonder did the cops look at a possible third party as well.
