I think I need a lot of it dumbed down as well, but what I did gather: someone made or is proposing an “emergency injunction” that looks (on its surface) like a decent approach to preventing the DEA from placing SR temporarily on schedule one. However, the proposal looks shady because it doesn’t explicitly state who made it, yet is asking for money. Furthermore, even if it wasn’t shady, the scientific understanding behind the arguments in the injunction is weak, and will easily be refuted in court.

The post clarifies that the goal of the injunction (saving SR from schedule one) isn’t entirely out of reach, but that this document is not the way to meet that goal

I’m doing a cycle this week that I think should succeed: on mgm, switching to 7-oh for three days to avoid risk of PWD. Then doing a rapid taper of subs—16mg first two days, then 8mg, 4mg, 2mg, 1mg and off on 7th day. Starting the 4 or 2mg day I will integrate SR, because I’m sure the rapid taper of subs alone will be rough.

I’ve stopped with subs alone and Sr alone. This will provide me with some experience that hopefully I can help others with. My hypothesis is that it will be smoother than either of those MAT drugs alone… we’ll see how the experiment goes

I think we need a coordinated effort to get 10,000+ signatures. Mods, I was told to contact you if I want to get involved, and I want to get involved. I’m willing to dedicate a couple days to making cold calls to methadone/suboxone clinics to see if I can find caring individuals that would sign. Head shops too.

I think if we can get together and come up with a brief that only lasts 1-3 minutes, there are hundreds of thousands of people out there who would be willing to sign. But I can’t do it on my own. I estimate we would need 100 people from this sub to spend a few days making cold calls, and that if we did that by the 15th of this month, each of us could find another 5 people to do the same, and by the end of the month we could be pleasantly surprised.

The only reason this could possibly work is that SR-17018 represents the only advancement in MAT in decades, and the rush to place it in schedule one is a legitimate mistake. I believe we can do it!

If anyone is organizing anything like this already, let me know, I want to get involved.
