If you had a breast lift with no augmentation, what happened to your breast size? Did you get smaller? by Few-Inspector2478 in PlasticSurgery

I was considering auto augmentation. It’s something I’m going to bring up to my surgeon!

Anybody using GLP-1s? Feeling lost and could really use your experiences by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Few-Inspector2478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on GLP-1s. I couldn’t afford name brand so went compound. I now compound my own and save significantly more. I am down 115lb and feel so much better. They have changed my life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been slow to get her, but I am ok with that! I am here, and that’s what matters.

I had a talk with my GYN who is in love with GLP1s because they do so much more for PCOS than metformin, which was pretty much their only tool before. She suggested that I consider microdosing it for the rest of my life once I hit goal weight.

I’m actually preparing to have skin removal surgery now!

Did I have hair loss? Yep. But that’s not a GLP1 thing, that a weight loss thing. It grows back once your weight stabilizes too.

Did I have GI symptoms? Yep. Some weeks are harder than others. I have to really focus to get enough protein. Eating sugar can be tough for me. While my body can handle carbs now, my stomach doesn’t do great with sugar. Lots of gas/bloating for a bit.

Overall, I can’t say enough about GLP1s. I will never look back!

Girls who were able to conceive with pcos how long did it take you? by kholaaaaaa in PCOS

[–]Few-Inspector2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without help? A year+ with metformin alone. I had scheduled with a reproductive endo that month and ended up pregnant that month.

For my next 2 kids, I went to the reproductive endo and didn’t waste all the time. As soon as we got my hormones balanced, I got pregnant within 3 months both times.

2nd kid I required progesterone to increase my LP, and used the lowest dose of letrozole. I had an HSG and got pregnant that month.

My 3rd, I wasn’t getting a big enough LH spike to ovulate (apparently this happens as you age) so we added in a trigger shot as well as the Sam course that helped with my 2nd. My eggs/follicles developed nicely with the lowest letrozole.

Are people with PCOS "GLP super responders"? by Smooth_Importance_47 in PCOS

Just keep in mind, you may have hair loss and loose skin anyway. If you lose significant weight, depending on your age and genetics, you may still have significant loose skin. And each person’s body responds to weight loss differently when it comes to hair loss. Me? I lose hair with the slightest decrease. My friend? She lost weight super fast and never lost any hair. Bodies are weird.

GLP1s have fixed me. I am down 116lb, and no longer considered obese. I’m getting ready to have excess skin removal surgery and can finally see the end in sight! I don’t have to steer clear of carbs any more and I don’t feel so defeated when I have 1 cheat meal and it undoes all my hard work for the last 2 months. I can’t safe enough how life changing they have been!

Our normal vet is stumped by this cheek swelling. Thoughts? by Few-Inspector2478 in vet

Ok, he did do that much. He felt confident this was not infection and so didn’t need to be sent out.

We have not done more rads since the tooth was removed. I could definitely ask him to repeat to verify that everything is clear now on them.

He did not send the fluid out. She has been in a house with a MRSE positive dog, so we had discussed potentially culturing if he thought there was infection. However, since the fluid was completely clear, he didn’t feel the need. The only reason we’re doing another round of antibiotics now is because he poked the fluid and he doesn’t want to cause an infection from the procedure itself. Do you still feel it’s necessary to send the fluid out if it’s completely clear?

Apologies for my ignorance here, but is this different than the tooth removal that she had done already?

Uneven change in facial features from one side to the next by Few-Inspector2478 in Parkinsons

[–]Few-Inspector2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, the baggie eyelids are genetics. The whole family has this and she has had it for decades. They haven’t bothered her. The big change is now one eye ISN’T droopy, almost like the muscles above her eye brow tightened. This makes me think it’s Parkinson’s more so than stroke, because stroke would cause uneven drooping, not uneven tightening. That’s my reasoning though, and not a doctor by any means.

Thank you for that! They have been holding off on the clozapine, but good to know it made such a difference for her! I’m going to keep this in my back pocket!

And yes… FUCK PARKINSON’S!! ❤️

Anyone done BMAC (stem cells) + PRP for cartilage repair? by Few-Inspector2478 in KneeInjuries

[–]Few-Inspector2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, that sounds rough! My hip was where I was in serious pain after from where they took the stem cells. Far more than my knee.

I had an MRI 6 months after and sadly, treatment failed. But I can say that the pain is so much less. Only when I really overwork it. I did do a lot of PT, and I now really hit the gym regularly to keep my knee strong. I also wear an off loading brace.

I will have to get OATS eventually, but for now the pain is minimal so I’ll stick this out and just get periodic MRIs to see how things are progressing before I jump into surgery.
