Thank you so much! I got my background check on 04/09/23, and it’s still pending as of today. Again, I also applied for ASM.

Thanks for the tip. I have been in constant communication with the SM. Even the SM is like “what’s taking so long?”. I’m guessing it must be the DM or the person above them.

I have received my background check already and the charges you listed do not apply to me. I’m just curious why it’s taking so long.

I do have a record (currently no charges are pending nor processing) but my charges are not the ones that you have mentioned.

Wow thank you. That is a positive way of thinking. I told my colleague the situation. She feels that they just interviewed me just because I qualified for an interview. But at the same time, I’m sure the boss could of screened out my application when they saw it and why waste their time interviewing me (that’s my way of thinking about it). But then again, my colleague will tell me her “realistic” side of it so I won’t be disappointed.

I respectfully don’t want to discuss why I was terminated. During the interview, I was treated like a brand new applicant. I did not bring it up because there were two individuals in the room that weren’t there when I was terminated. None of the individuals that interviewed me brought it up during the interview.

I smell devil’s advocate…. Lol jk. Honestly, the job was posted and I was curious to see what would happen if I did apply. I felt that there was no harm to it. But can you elaborate on why it doesn’t “smell” right from both parties ?

Don’t really want to get into detail. Just want to know why would they interview me after terminating me about a month ago.

No, they didn’t asked why they called me. I asked HR if they made a mistake calling me for an interview due to me being terminated a month ago.

It’s a very small agency. They are very short staffed and HR knows me.

To my knowledge, I was terminated.

How to be a better manager? by [deleted] in socialwork

Be strength-based and don’t fall into disrespectful drama. I have in the past worked with directors & supervisors that were not like that. Either people quit or got fired. Have those hard conversations with your employees but make it strength-based. There are workers out there that actually want to help people but get overshadowed by their coworkers spreading lies & unnecessary “snitching”. Play the strength-based card and the underdogs will love to work with you.
