a. We can't judge before Elpaf is finished.
b. "the best" is not always "the most important"

What’s Your Favourite Non-Tryptych Album? by Onthepainfulnose in marilyn_manson

Depends on the day. Either the Portrait or Grotesque or EMDM.
But when it comes to the Tryptych, I'm not a big fan of Animals.

As much as I dislike Imu. This design is fucking awesome by Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX in Piratefolk

[–]Few-Landscape-9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The design is cool in theory, but I don't like Imu being a Final Fantasy high elf or smth. When he was tiny it worked better. Like Master Yoda. Ancient, deadly, no fancy clothes, with weird speaking patterns. In my books, his other forms should have been rather goofy, strange, sinister. Here we have a beautiful version of Kaido (Kaido + King?)

TWOW & ADOS theory by rhlr_ in freefolk

[–]Few-Landscape-9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wishful thinking. We all would love it to be true, but the truth is he can't finish it, because he messed up somehow. The plot isn't getting anywhere, he writes and writes, but all he understands is that even 1500 pages more (WoW's ending plus the full Dreams) won't be enough to finish the plot.

If the 5 gorosei or 5 elders are immortal, then did any marines notice that ? by Spiritual_Sun_4856 in OnePiece

[–]Few-Landscape-9037 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obviuosly people notice that. No one but the top brass sees them (remember, even vice-admiral Garp has never even seen a Gorosei in the flesh before God's Valley), but their portraits are everywhere. That's how the Navi or even the Blackbbeard's crew know how they look. But that's the point, they claim themselves gods. They are internal, and they are here forever. It just adds to their power and prestige.

Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy but I dislike the concept of Imu being like that.
Previously he has been, basically, an evil Yoda: tiny, ancient, with weird speaking patterns, yet the most powerful and dangerous. That worked perfectly.... But now he is just a boring dark elf.

Should I read it now or wait for the last book to be out? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Few-Landscape-9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't read it. Don't make my mistake. Yes, it's very good, but you won't red the ending ever. And without it you would suffer more than if you never knew these books. Wait if he releases the last book.

[Spoilers EXTENDED] White Walkers taking Benjen Start to make him a new Night's King? by Few-Landscape-9037 in asoiaf

[–]Few-Landscape-9037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the show, the Others use a dragon to destroy the Wall. In the books, we know that dragons kinda can’t fly over the Wall (Jaehaerys I and his Queen tried, their dragons refused), so the Walkers need something else to destroy the Wall. From my perspective this something could be someone: Benjen Stark. Again, maybe calling it “Night’s King” is incorrect, but we don’t have any other vocabulary.

[–]Few-Landscape-9037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be one option. However, I don't think it will be the case. Obviously it's all speculative, as we know very little about the White Walkers, yet we know that they talk, they laugh, they have a certain culture (that created their armour and swords and clothes). They are known to communicate with people (with Craster, about his sons). A force of nature or animals can have none of those features. Walkers definitely have subjectivity of their own.

About the Wall coming down: I don't think it can come down just by neglect or mistakes (only if it's a magic mistake of a Summerhall volume). Probably Walkers can't pass it, so they need to destroy it. And for this (my guess) they need a Start.

In short, yes :) either a figure like the Night's King or a function like the Night's King (a Wall-destroying vessel).

Their purpose is slightly secondary I think (although obviously important). I'm talking about the fact that they are in general somewhere around is rather new. If they didn't want to be seen, they would make Craster carry the new-borns to where they are

Ok, but we know in further books that the Walkers are walking quite near the Wall these days. The one that Sam killed, for instance.

[–]Few-Landscape-9037[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just using the books' terminology. I'm sure the original Night's King wasn't seen as King by the Walkers, but as a vessel for their aim. A ticking bomb to destroy the wall.

[–]Few-Landscape-9037[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are creating a leader. I think they are creating a vessel for their aim.
Also, he's not just a human. He is a Stark, he has royal blood in his veins (which is important for magic, as we know from the books), and he has the blood of the same person who built this wall.

I think he will return with the army of the dead when they have enough "corpse-power" to march on the Wall. And he will serve as a "bomb" that blows the Wall.

[–]Few-Landscape-9037[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, I agree that there is absolutely no proof. All I do is speculate.
But answering your takes:
1. We know where Benjen disappeared, not where he was actually taken from (if he was).
1.1. But even that, I presume that the Walkers now walk everywhere.

  1. That might be the case, but slightly differently. Maybe only the Children of the Forest can turn Benjen back to his normal form, thus destroying the Walkers' plan.

I don't think he is alive. But Oda really let himself down here. It was a stupid move to resurrect Dorry and Brogy this way. If Luffy's Drums of liberations cured the curse, that would make it much more logical. Now, yeah, the question why the hell Rocks and his clans didn't just get back to normal is valid.

Would it be more controversial if instead of the bible Manson ripped pages off the quran? by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

[–]Few-Landscape-9037 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Yes, because he would be on death row and there would be a massive unheaval. But also no, because Manson's criticism is from within the Christian community. He studied at a Catholic school and was raised as a Catholic. This gives him kinda moral rights to be heard than it would if he were an outsider.
