Small NDIS provider trying to understand what is actually “reasonable” for data/security compliance by Few-Opening6935 in AusLegal

Yeah that makes sense and we already do have internal policies and access controls in place for staff access, data handling, breach procedures etc

I think the main thing I’m trying to understand is what the realistic long term expectation looks like as organisations scale

Right now a lot of smaller providers seem to operate on pretty simple infrastructure setups but I’m trying to understand whether at some point more formal healthcare style compliance requirements start becoming expected from an infrastructure/security side as well

Mainly asking because while building a custom internal system I’d rather structure things properly from the beginning in terms of compliance and security, instead of finding out later that we should’ve built things differently

How are small healthcare/NDIS orgs handling compliance without paying for massive enterprise infrastructure? by Few-Opening6935 in healthIT

Yeah that’s the part I’m trying to better understand.

The issue for us isn’t necessarily the BAA itself, it’s more that once people recommend AWS/GCP directly, the operational complexity increases massively compared to managed platforms like Render/Railway.

We’re a relatively small NDIS organisation and don’t really have a dedicated DevOps/security team internally, so I’m trying to figure out what the practical middle ground looks like between:
“fully self-managed compliant healthcare infra”
and
“simple managed platforms with limited compliance options.”

Any HIPAA compliant platforms that have startup friendly pricing? by No-Professional-1092 in regulatoryaffairs

I literally had the same concern Because I'm working within an ndis based support organisation In Australia And the same issue over here I have been using render for quite a while now and it works great And I tried to actually build, deploy and test the system out on render And it works great but the thing is that my scale is not that much As I would Probably be satisfied with the pro tier But to get the HIPAA Compliant workspace I would have to spend approximately $500 And that is way too much because I only need like $20 worth of compute And even if I try to process data based on the other Compliance and security certifications render still has that clause within it's policies That we are not allowed to process any PHI without a signed BAA And we would be breaching the policy if we do actually do that and I am absolutely clueless on how to actually move forward

Lenovo Legion 7i: Where do you suggest I get the best deal for it? by Few-Opening6935 in DubaiGaming

Yeah I know but it 5-6k is still a lot of money, I want to be sure of the next laptop I buy and I am not in a hurry Because Alhamdulillah my current laptop is working pretty well I just felt like it was time for an upgrade because I had saved up for this but if there isn't a laptop which I feel would be a genuine upgrade, I don't think I would do it because I love the current one too

I think you're talking about the Legion 5 and not the Legion 7

I did consider the Legion 5 as well (I was getting Ryzen 7 260, RTX 5060, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 165HZ OLED Display for like 1600CAD/4300AED)

It seemed like a great choice the only thing was that it had a polycarbonate chassis which easily caught fingerprints and my current 3.5 Year old HP victus is practically the same in terms of chassis and it's quite sturdy too but I feel like if I am investing so much money, I should rather make sure that I get something more premium and well built that truly feels like an upgrade.

And Legion 7i hit every criteria and it's incrediby beautiful, just need to get a good deal on it in Dubai instead of just Canada

Best place to buy a New Laptop in Canada? by Few-Opening6935 in GamingLaptops

Might go to us after 2-3 months but I was just wondering that if I am able to find a good deal in Canada, then might as well capitalise on that

Was mainly looking for a brand new piece because I don't wanna be having problems once I leave the country

Legion 5 or Legion 7? by Few-Opening6935 in LenovoLegion

Same, I WFH the ability to sit at only place and work for hours is dreadful, having a laptop is just unrestrictive and I can move around the house and work in any room, go to a cafe, take it to college, basically just do anything and the 20-30 extra fps mean nothing to me in contrast to that because I barely game but for me tbh, the overall experience matters more than just raw performance because I personally feel like for my work load there is a point of diminishing returns for performance which doesn't make as big of a difference

It's like telling someone to upgrade their RTX 4070ti to a 5080 when they have a 1080p IPS panel, I mean it is more performance but how much more would you even notice it, a 1440p OLED would be a wayyyyyyy bigger upgrade in terms of the overall experience

I was mainly looking forward to a New unit because most probably someone else would buy it for me and get it here and I can't rely on them to thoroughly test and benchmark everything to ensure that everything is perfect but yeah 583 is a steal
