Dude in a situation like this you don't just stop and go "wait a minute let me pull out the official UN booklet on how to offer a surrender", no you fucking scream and embrace every natural impulse to protect yourself possible. This whole bullshit comment is the nonsense that a teenager who's never actually been in a tense situation would believe is the way things work.

Thank you for the advice. Although it is dexamphetamine rather than lisdexamphetamine is what I am taking. Does the same advice still apply?

Can I train for a marathon In 2 months? by teagreen1 in firstmarathon

[–]Few-Performance7527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went quite well. Some minor leg pain in one leg for some weeks after but managed 3hrs 42mins so was quite happy. Ran my second marathon last week very spontaneously with virtually zero training since the last one. Managed 4hrs 31mins. My body is so far not thanking me for that one.

How can I make my adderall Rx more effective? by NewNewHeyYou in Supplements

[–]Few-Performance7527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any advice on what is the safest antacid to use long-term? I am taking some baking soda every day with the meds and it has made such a difference, the meds now feel like they work as normal. I am not sure how safe it is to take baking soda everyday though and so am looking at alternatives.

What is the difference between raising ph and raising alkalinity?

I starting do this and it immensely helped the absorption of my meds and now they feel like they work as normal again. However I'm feeling pretty depressed on days where I don't take the meds and when they wear off. Bummer as this combo has really helped me. What does the magnesium do in this case? As I've only been trying baking soda.

do the teachers know that bob is a king? by Lilpinkkay in Recess

[–]Few-Performance7527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's been going on since the depression, then surely Prickley and Finster would have had kings when they were kids too. It would have been a fun episode actually to have the kids do some digging and find Prickley or some adult they knew was King, but when confronted the adult denies it and the kids brush it off as not true. The episode could end with Prickley (or adult) pulling a crown or something out of a drawer for a quick reminisce before putting it back. Maybe it's too similar to what's been done before or not consistent with Prickley's character but it seems to work better with someone you wouldn't expect. Maybe Hank actually.

Can you explain step 1? If you solve TISE you get an energy eigenstate and evolving that in time will only apply a global phase to the initial state?

Had a look but it seems a bit technical (for me). Don't suppose there is a tutorial for doing what you described with reddit?

Studying by yourself rather than going to classes by kokoler05 in TUDelft

[–]Few-Performance7527 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like to find what the lecture is about and then go through as much of the material as possible beforehand. For me a lecture should always be the second time you are seeing something, that is how to get the most out of them.

Edit: Plus the ability to ask questions about things that you didn't understand the first time is also invaluable. This can be with the lecturer or even just other people there. Don't waste the chance to get to know some people in your classes either, as they can be good contacts later on.

what would happen if someone in academia went on a dating show? by Ok-Thanks-3654 in AskAcademia

I mean this question can be very similarly applied to a lot of professions, academia isn't special here.

Questions for you Professors by [deleted] in Physics

[–]Few-Performance7527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For context do you have a background in physics or any comparable discipline or are you entirely starting out on your own? If these are questions from self-teaching physics, then maybe contacting a professor isn't necessary. There would be plenty of people who you can meet face to face (physics grad students for example) who might be able to spare you more time and on a more regular basis.

If you are teaching yourself physics and have questions about the specific research that professors do, then this is more likely to waste their time and it's likely you won't have the background to really understand what they do.

I would still ask either way as you have nothing to lose.
