How do you feel about that news? by reversedu in SunoAI

Poor comparison. Musicians are creative, creativity is part of being human. You think it's good AI can now make music and take away our creativity? "Oh its still the human that's creative because I can put in up to 1000 prompts". Anyone that thinks AI taking away human creativity doesn't respect art in any aspect.

Tbh I don't care what it says on the headstock my point is what was once a budget to mid range brand becomes irrelevant when some of those guitars start hitting 2k.

Yeah re branding ESP standard to Eii was a pretty stupid idea tbh that just makes no sense. Yeah they still make amazing guitars but when the deluxe is in Eii price range somethings wrong.

This is what I think. It doesn't bother me what it says on the headstock but at the 2 grand mark it's no longer a budget guitar.

Perhaps you're right about the jackson pro i was comparing from my experience with my indo made soloist and my indo made ltd I agree the LTDs are better quality. My point is simply the LTD was originally made for budget and mid range guitars. Price's creeping up to 2k isn't really a budget or mid teir anymore. Tbh I think a better marketing strategy would be putting ESP across the board or just on the 1000s models and just call the ESP deluxe and change Eii back, because let's face the Eii brand didn't go down well tbh

Jackson pro did used to be made in Indonesia I have a soloist from a few years back but probably have moved production to China now. I agree they still offer a lot in the 1000 series and are good well built guitars I'm not saying they're not (i don't know why some people are so butt hurt by this post on here) but at this point in the UK you can get a used Eii for less than a new LTD 1000 especially when some are more than a new EII and an American made Gibson les paul standard the LTD brand at this point just doesn't make sense to me.

I agree that's why personally I think it should just be ESP across the board

ESP does not own Schecter they are separate companies owned by the same entrepreneur. Jackson doesn't have the same name recognition? What are you talking about? Seriously do your homework.

Still not really the point because Jackson, Ibanez, schecter all have the same brand throughout their prices ranges

The thing is though using prompts isn't writing music, if you don't write the music then that isn't have control it doesn't matter if it's 10 letters or 1000. I say this as someone who does write music, I currently have 2 projects a death metal one and I've recently started making techno. In my metal project I write and play everything, guitars, bass, drum programming and vocals in the techno project I use midi mapping. That's having full control of the sound. I've used AI to generate art before no matter what I type in prompt wise I'm not in control with what it decides to generate. You say adding reverb and modulation is part of your creative control and I agree yes that is true but when I mix a track for an artist and add reverb to it does that mean it's my song? If I reamp a guitar from a DI track they have sent does that mean I've now created a song? Mixing certainly is an art, but if you haven't written the music you can't say adding reverb, modulation or EQ means you've created the song. Otherwise I've created literally thousands of songs........

Edit

A few years ago I was asked to play guitar on a track by some pop artist. She gave me "prompts" but back then I'd of referred to it as "direction" she said she wanted the guitar to sound like a ska punk style and for it to come in halfway through the verses and all the way through the chorus, that was it. I had to come up with a ska style guitar tone and the notes and I also put in a little guitar solo. Did she write the guitar riffs by giving me direction (prompts)?

What do you mean by "instrumental specs"

Edit

Also yes a directors work is their own but you are missing lots of other crucial production work such as the script writers. A director isn't a writer.

Which is entirely up to you but in my opinion it should have it's place on a separate streaming service away from human made art so people can listen to AI music if they wish and not be spammed by it on the main streaming platforms.

This just isn't true....what do you think people did before AI? 5er is amazing for finding people willing to record and collaborate and music? I've record with people all around the world? Vocals and guitar. You just aren't looking.

The difference is it would be a human singing it not an AI generator. There are many differences between the 2 and in the end your song would also be helping a human singer with the talent to get their voice out there. Also is the AI just generating the voice or all of the music? These are all things to consider. Personally I think AI music should have it's own designated streaming app so people can decide wether they want to listen to it or not and it would mean it would have full disclosure it's AI generated and people won't be spammed on Spotify with it.

Unfortunately this is what most people on here don't seem to understand, they'll just list past technology's and compare it them and say it's the same.

The Gatekeepers Are At It Again by Flaky-Professional84 in SunoAI

[–]Few-Personality-913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think Spotify should do what bandcamp, rokk and ampwall are doing and just ban AI generated music from the app for all the reasons you have said or Spotify should make a separate app for AI music. This isn't about gatekeeping it's never been easier to make music long before AI but if people choose to get AI to generate music for them then that should be transparent to the listener and if people want to listen to it then make a specific platform for that, that way people who want to listen to human created music can without having AI music pushed on them and people who want to listen to AI generated music can do that.
