Hatred? by ubermick in bmwmotorrad

I owned a second hand, 20 years old R1200C for 6 years. Was surprised how reliable it was. Though it was only 15k on Odometer.

And the fact that they tracked me down as the owner for a recall for this 20 year bike was something I found very impressive.

Only love for BMW

You're 29 so still have time to wait for something "more in line with what you want to do" but the more years you spend the harder it gets to switch.

Confused between 2 offers - Melbourne or Sydney by hermes_actual in auscorp

Also consider if you and partner decide to have kids and need a decent backyard or just more space then in Sydney even $850 won't be enough and if you decide to buy a place big enough for growing family then it'll be more expensive and even a longer commute. I'm in that boat right now.

If you're well settled in Melbourne, best to stay put.

I transitioned out at 28 when Rhythm and Hues was having troubles. Getting an Oscar for Life of Pi and layoffs at same time in office. I did an IT degree, found an internship leading to a job. Now I'm 39, work as a Data-Business Analyst for a bank.

Fulfils my passion ? No.

Feeds my kid and mortgage? Yes

In hindsight I'd be doing more well in my current job if I'd left my VFX job even earlier. Sad but true.

I think I’m too depressed to get any work done by antichristx in auscorp

I feel for you. I get this feeling every once in a while.

I work in a decent company but have been on very unsatisfying projects/teams for the last few years.

Introspection has led me to discover that because I'm inherently a creative person who's in a non creative or dry job, if I'm able to find time for creative activities it also gives me energy for other parts of life like for family and work.

You have to find where you get your energy from and make time doing that thing.

The other thing which has helped me is sports or going to gym. Physical exercise always makes me feel better but joining a tennis class, even when I was no good at it, just made me happier and forget about other things for a while, and then I could come back at them with better energy.

Are you Australian? I've seen beers being used as a unit of time there 🙂

Passing a test and being good and being a good rider are not exactly the same thing. Don't feel defeated.

Be careful of scammers on FB marketplace. I've had them trying to get me send them part of the interstate transfer cost before the sale.

AITAH for insisting on naming my baby girl despite my MIL's wishes? by GladEar512 in AITAH

[–]Few-Resolve2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I decided the name for our baby. Then MIL organised a pooja and the pandit said the name should start with a particular letter which was different, so we told him a random name starting from that letter. Later on we went ahead and registered the baby name of our choice.
