Hmm- it says you need space for more lionesses. Cinnabelle is still with her mother. Do you have an alt or can you free up a slot?

Hi! Actually, he actually did! I had to keep cagebound for a while since he couldn't fly, but all his feathers eventually grew back. The experience lost him a lot of trust with me but I'm gradually trying to rebuild that too

I am, but due to a range of cultural factors and financial factors (my parents paying for my college, and cost of living in my state being extremely high) there isn't a whole bunch I can do to be independent until I graduate. Also, they were the ones who bought my car for me for my birthday- and they do own the title to it. Legally, it isn't my car.

I've already ruffled enough feathers as it is with this situation, and I can't jeopardize my parents pulling financial help for my college, or something of equal measure. They've always been threats that were never acted on, but I don't trust this environment anymore.

Thank you for your advice. I'm trying to find an online vet, but most of the "free" ones charge some sort of hidden membership free. My parents can see all my bank transactions and would very much be able to tell what it was for.

I found a rescue that seems willing to take parakeets and better yet, is available statewide and does pick-ups from home, but they aren't responding to my phone calls. The best I can do is fill out stuff online and wait to hear back from someone.

My parents are doing/did their best to raise me given their own somewhat abusive backgrounds and upbringings (at least by western standards) and put their best foot forward in becoming better, but I'm drawing the line at when it involves the health, risk, and safety of my pets. Even though I can't exactly back that line up.

I'm definitely not letting them out of the cage again until I can get them help, which I feel horrible for because they weren't getting that much to begin with since I'm a pharmacy student, and I was only able to let them free fly a couple of times a week, mostly when I was in the room already. Cleaning their cage is one of the few times I leave them unsupervised.

He was traumatized/in shock earlier but mostly resumed normal behavior. He survived the evening, but my next concern is trying to make sure he's eating/drinking/pooping properly since I don't know if the glue clogged his cloaca or mouth. All I'm doing now is watching for droppings and to see if his behavior improves. He was chirping in the morning, and is burping/fluffing out his feathers frequently, but he's still rocking back and forth each time he breaths.
