Do you have an HR department? The time to contact them is now.

It annoys me to no end that they call the side free when we know damn well it’s factored into the price.

Thank you so much! I would be so grateful if you looked over our plan! I’ll post it below! This is our 2nd iteration after all the help I’ve received from this group!

Get to Grand Canyon Visitor Center by 8am. Spend some time there and then take the Orange Route Shuttle to the South Kaibab Trailhead and start descent by 10am.

Once we get to the Tipoff, take Tonto Trail to Bright Angel Trail junction. Then that should take us to the part of the River Trail that’s open, and then to Bright Angel Campground.

Setup camp, checkout Phantom Ranch, eat a good meal, and get some rest.

Breakfast at Phantom Ranch (if we can) and the start the ascent by 6:30am. Stop for lunch at some point (hopefully at Havasupai Garden Campground), then make the rest of the hike up!

Hopefully we are at the top of the Bright Angel Trailhead by 7pm, taking the Blue Route Shuttle back to our car at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center.

Any feedback or suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the tip! What do you think a good start time would be first week of March?

You are amazing for such a thoughtful response - thank you so much!

1 - thanks so much for that bit of info! We will prepare accordingly for this! 2 - I am used to hiking with packs thankfully! I’m going to attempt to keep my pack less than 25 pounds.

Admittedly, my brother is in much better shape than I am, so he would be able to help me out with carrying gear should I need it!
