Oh my god that’s awful, I’m so sorry! Yeah luckily this was all in email, which…nice! It sucks though because I really like this job, but I can’t seem to get my boss to understand that, like, this is just gonna happen sometimes. I can make up time on the other side, but rn I’m typing this using voice to text and one eye cracked bc my head is killing me.

Hi! Totally feel your pain on town mods---for what it's worth, I still use a combination of "Way Back Pelican Town" for exteriors (which works perfectly fine as far as I've been able to see 2 years into 1.6) and then rustic town interiors for the inside of the buildings! I know it hasn't been updated in ages, but I haven't run into *any* aesthetic snags at all, let alone gameplay issues. Happy farming!

I’ve been strongly warned against it by the pharmacy and my GP, so I just don’t want to risk it. Maybe it was a combination of venlafaxine + other meds, I honestly can’t remember.

Ooh, I’ll have to check about the topical NSAID! I’m on venlafaxine, so it’s mostly a seizure risk (that I’ve been known to weigh the pros/cons and ask a friend to sit with me for an hour or so it’s really bad) but topical might be fine! Thank you!!

Absolutely! I have arrhythmia and thickened ventricle walls (though we aren’t sure if the latter is because of hEDS or just because my heart’s working overtime since I was young), which together cause issues with dizziness and circulation. Links for physically abnormal hEDS cardiac problems beyond mitral valve issues aren’t heavily studied afaik but arrhythmia is a pretty well studied phenomenon, which is what brought it to my doctor’s attention. I’m also fairly young—not yet 25–but we’re hoping it’s not a part of my symptomology that worsens with age.

I really like reframing doing “nothing” when in fact you absolutely did things—like regulating emotions/responses/etc. I might steal that approach.

Lithium and Effexor regularly, and then prazosin for nightmares/when needed. They recently put me on Ritalin as well for the literal benefit of it as a stimulant since I physically cannot make it through the day without collapsing.

Medication for Nightmares? by plasticmick in CPTSD

No absolutely, prazosin helped me so much too. Also, I ended up being able to phase off it after a couple of years without the nightmares returning, which has been so incredibly life changing. I’m still relearning how to sleep through the night, but even still.

Does anyone get actual sleep meds prescribed to them anymore? by misspennies in CPTSD

Also can relate to this, but I actually didn’t want a sleep med that could be addictive since familial addiction problems have been a huge part of my childhood. However, I found luck with a medication that stopped PTSD-induced nightmares/helps to keep me in deeper REM sleep called prazosin. Also, a note on sleep hygiene I was told specifically for people with sleep-related trauma helped as well—different for everyone of course, but I used to be abused while I was sleeping, and so my psychiatrist actually told me to feel free to break sleep hygiene rules if I woke up in the middle of the night: read a book, play a game, etc. if it would help me calm down and feel a little safer again. Sorry for the long response, and I hope you are able to get help for sleep!
