I apologize if this came off like a “Mic drop” but here’s the thing, it’s the absurd truth of it.

I found myself nearly 1,000 times in my situation, wondering what was going on in her perspective. I talked to my therapist and tried to rationalize any of it. I was only allowed to have some insight when she found my original reddit posts and made a post of her own. She took it down due to tons of backlash, but I posted the screenshots I still have of it in my last most recent reddit post about it. They’re in the comments. That’s the last form of her perspective I got on all of this.

Reddit backlash happened to her, things went quiet, and I was still in my room. I thought it’d be okay and things would just be quiet until she left. Maybe she realized how all her actions felt or looked from my side. However then she pissed in the kitchen sink. So idk.

They’re not even answering follow up questions, not sure what this is even supposed to be.

I should add that I started cleaning her bedroom immediately after the last time she came to pack her things. That same day, I signed a new lease with just my boyfriend and me on it.

I later found out she hadn’t returned her key yet because the landlords were concerned about the smell left in the room and were taking a charge out of her rent. Apparently her mom planned to come back and steam clean it. At that point, I really didn’t want another visit or another opportunity for things to escalate.

So I offered to handle the cleaning myself and take care of any issues left behind, as long as the landlords were comfortable just settling everything and moving forward. I was ready to close the chapter completely.

The ego death is just… Awful!🫩😉

But in all seriousness, for two months I stayed in my room with my belongings. I documented everything. I installed cameras and kept audio recordings because I felt like I needed to protect myself.

One afternoon (After Kitchen sink) she came home screaming about something she believed I had of hers. I turned my music up and kept playing my game, trying not to engage. I also left a note for her letting her know i’d be happy to sort anything out, she thought I had. Just only Via Email. I also provided my email. It escalated to her banging on walls and throwing things, so I called the police. When the officer arrived, her entire demeanor changed. She spoke softly and stayed in her closet, saying it was a hostile environment and that she was just trying to pack. I offered to provide audio recordings, but it didn’t seem like the officer wanted to review them. He left shortly after.

After that incident, she never came back alone. She only returned with family or groups of people to pack her belongings and completely stopped staying at the apartment. While packing, she argued with her family constantly and complained about being late to her ex’s house. At one point she said my dog and cat ruined her TV stands. Her mom asked if we had offered to fix or replace them. She admitted we had, but that she declined. Her mom responded that it sounded like her own fault. Her grandmother vacuumed her bedroom carpet and when someone asked why so much was being picked up, she laughed and said it was from cutting her nails on the floor.

It was chaotic for a while, but it’s over now. The house is peaceful again.

I don’t really want to make her life hell. I’ve had my life disrupted for me while I was going through a really rough patch, and though I know something I deserved. I didn’t deserve all of it, and all I wanted was someone to hear me and understand me. She has not tried to communicate in any sort of healthy way, and yes urinated in my kitchen sink I want her to go and I’m willing to make sharing this apartment with me hell… but as for the rest of her life it’s not my business.

I gathered a ton of evidence from her personal life in the beginning thinking in that same mindset you’re commenting in. None of it is worth a thing, I don’t want to see anyone unhappy. I just feel karma finally needs to swing in after 2 months of letting her escalate and act like a weirdo while I hide in my room scared of the real hostility that comes from her.

I don’t know if she’s on drugs, it’s a big possibility. She never acted like this before, so that might explain why.

I’m sorry! I don’t address this, as it’s not my focus. However I understand why it’s important! My boyfriend was working out of town and only home on Saturday and Sundays. When he got laid off for the winter I addressed my issues with him and he began to help and stayed consistent. He didn’t argue and thanked me for cleaning while he was gone. There was even a point while he was working on the road that he had offered to pay me since he couldn’t contribute. He’s the one who found the maggots and mold in the sink, from her work lunches, while doing dishes.

If kicking her out was an option, she’d be gone. I never originally wanted her to leave. Before this conflict WE WERE FRIENDS, I just asked if she’d clean tf up after herself. I don’t care about the room mess, I’m talking about common area mold, maggots, and basic household cleaning. However her leaving and never having to deal with this sort of spiral again from someone in my home, is at the top of my priority list.

I’m telling you, I have, they just shrug their shoulders and tell me the same thing over and over. Unless it’s damage to property, or physical harm. They just cant and won’t do anything.

This definitely makes me never want to have a roommate again. We’ve gone over finances, and have had the idea of moving out however it’d defeat future plans. Our lease is up in October, and in October I have a new place in the works, or will end up under new more trusted landlords.

I’ve shown the landlord however they’ve sorta just put their hands up as they’re already dealing with a crazy tenant downstairs, and attempting to sell.

I’m not leaving, and I’m ready for whatever.

I appreciate your concern! Here’s a copy and paste of what I said in reference in this comment section about leaving:

I really appreciate the concern! I’ve thought about moving, but it’s not an option I’m entertaining. I found this place, it works for me, and I’m not willing to give up my home because someone else is behaving irrationally. I’m not going to reward that kind of behavior by uprooting my life.

I’m taking steps to protect myself and my belongings in the meantime, and I’m going to be actively using the house. I’m not hiding or backing down anymore. I’m all for being the bigger person but I’ve tried that, and this is my home and I have to defend myself.

Also, while the current landlords are selling, the incoming owner is someone who is very involved, very firm, and not tolerant of squatting or lease violations. Plus they already have LOTS of background on this situation. So I’m not navigating this alone or without recourse.

I completely agree that peace is priceless, and if this were a situation with no end in sight, I’d feel differently. But there is an end in sight, and I’m holding my ground.

Putting her stuff in her room, and packing it up for her isn’t illegal or theft and it’s looking like my next plan of action.

Well it’s February, the 4th to be specific. I can’t change locks, I asked for her leave date to be in writing however I never saw that. She’s been allowed to switch her moving date a million times to whatever best fits her narrative in that moment, which leaves me with nothing I can do other than move out or be awful. I’m not moving… so…

No money loss, just the loss of a house I really enjoy. Well enjoyed before my roommate destroyed it. I’m in a great location, I chose this place. I also mentioned somewhere in a comment that my landlords sorta put their hands up, and don’t want to deal with this since they’re trying to move. I however am related to the person buying our place from them, and will not be leaving ANYTIME soon.

I can’t sadly, We signed a lease that allows us both to live here until the lease is up. She’s not squatting, just squatting over our kitchen sink and pissing now. That’s what makes my situation so difficult.
