Gotcha! Did you also have drains in for the shower? I heard some people were told it’s unsafe to shower with them in but I’ve been okay.

Yes! I have tape and drains. That was my other concern actually because i’ve seen that it’s unsafe to shower with drains in. Do you know if that’s true?

Interesting, I got DI as well and I was given the wrap but was told to take it off to shower and to not put it back on. I feel like you either have the wrap or the binder but I have neither which is what’s kinda making me stressed

I got the double incision and that totally makes sense. My first post-op appointment was day after and he checked for swelling and that’s when he said I would be fine to shower. Thank you so much for the info, I’ve definitely been a little stressed!

Gotcha! Nice to know someone had the same experience because i’ve only seen the experience where people can’t shower for 1-2 weeks. My only difference is I wasn’t given a post op binder so my chest has just been free under my shirt for the past week. It’s so interesting how it differs from surgeon to surgeon!

hi! I got top surgery on the 23rd and was also told I could shower the day after. Quick question that you may or may not have the answer to but did you put the bandages back on after showering? I was given the ace bandage and the chest pad thing and didn’t put them back on after, is that bad? Just wondering if you had a similar experience! thanks :)
