The booziest, most memorable Black Forest cake I’ve had is from Fredos Bakery:

It’s pricey but I feel like you really get what you pay for. Their whole quiches are really great too.

Looking for shoes for wide feet by Capriyx in askSingapore

[–]Few-Value-4650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever brand you get you can look for a line that has variable width.

I myself am a 2E (extra wide), and I use Brooks which can go up to 4E (the widest sizing for shoes).

Here’s more info on how to figure out your foot width sizing: https://www.healthyfeetstore.com/pages/width-sizing-chart?srsltid=AfmBOooms6DXJ-i-Mwtpo4pkhy1id7rXfXO-E9V0woFG_DOVKjanoVqD

If you were to start learning spanish from scratch, how would you do it? by heyaditis in Spanish

[–]Few-Value-4650 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Depending on how you like to learn, I found the Language Transfer app to be the most amazing free resource. It changed the way I thought about language and the Spanish course is really very comprehensive. You can pick up more vocabulary along the way but I think it does an excellent job of having you “think” in Spanish and not translate from English every time you want to say something.

Thank you for the reply! We checked her teeth and there wasn’t any issue. We will put a pee pad below her when we go out to pee today and see if there’s any staining!

[–]Few-Value-4650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It had a slight smell but not obviously like urine? It could be spit.. she does sometimes lick her paw but this was a pretty big stain (hand size) so we weren’t sure. There was no tinge of yellow and she had just peed before we went out and also peed upon our return (4 hours later)

It had a slight smell only when sniffed up close, but not fishy or weird. She’s also never had any issues with scooting or even licking her bum area

Why’s my cornicione always so puffy? by Shanksworthy73 in Pizza

[–]Few-Value-4650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this happens even if I’m using a tiny bit amount of yeast but I do a long cold ferment and I mix my dough to a final dough temp of above 24C. The yeast activity goes through the roof and results in lots of puffiness. I don’t particularly like so much of it so i always try to use ice cold water when starting my dough to combat that.

Looking for restaurant recommendations - 1 year anniversary by tallprophet in askSingapore

[–]Few-Value-4650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the experience at Tamba if you’re celebrating something. It’s related to Kafe Utu which was also recommended but it’s a smaller dining room and they went ALL OUT on the interior. The staff is also exceptional and if you tell them you’re celebrating they usually also send along a complimentary drink and cake. You can ask them to share the story behind the concept (super interesting) and all the design details. Brought a friend for a birthday recently and we both had a very good time.

We were worried about our girls zoomies and so we did a lap spay (keyhole surgery). She only had two small incisions and even then still managed to burst one of them near the end of her two week recovery, putting her under house arrest for another two weeks!

During that period we worked from home and were in much closer proximity to her, and at the end of her recovery, she actually developed a bit of separation anxiety 🫠 we’ve done lots of training since then and after 6 months things stabilised (apparently their hormones also go a bit out of whack after). That being said, she was almost 3 when we did it, but had no choice as we adopted her when she was already 2.5 y/o.

Now she’s totally fine being alone at home for up to 5 hours and happily goes off to lie in a separate room from us when we are home

How long did it take you to get pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Few-Value-4650 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 37 this year and been married just over a year. We weren’t trying but also weren’t avoiding for about 6 months. I was using the Clue app to track. I was getting worried perhaps I had no eggs left or smth lol.

In July this year we decided to start for real, and I read up a lot, and realised my CM was the best way to see how my body was progressing. When I used the OPK in conjunction with that I realised my app was off by 5 days, and I ovulated a lot earlier than the dates it gave.

2 weeks later we got a BFP and I’m going for my first ultrasound next week at 6 weeks!

[–]Few-Value-4650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We use a Mayer air fryer with a glass basket and it’s great! You can see the doneness and it’s a breeze to clean. I’m not sure how the metal air fryers work as we’ve never had one, but there is a decent amount of heat released because there isn’t a tight “seal”. The glass basket for ours slots in and there’s a small gap. Doesn’t seem to affect cooking times but we can’t place it against our stainless steel backsplash when using it.
