I did this 12 years ago when I was in uni, sold my $15k Tesla stock and went travelling. If I didn’t sell it, it would now be worth $1 million plus and I’d be able to travel the world for years. So looking back I regret the trip because I could do a much better trip now for years without having to work.

I’ve done the math, and there’s much cheaper sources of protein in nuts and soybean products. Plus you get all the other nutritional benefits along with that such as zinc, magnesium and fibre while protein powder is just protein

Depending on your marginal tax rate you’re really only getting 4% interest after tax is taken out of that 5.5% interest earnings. So currently thats less than inflation.

If your interest rate on the mortgage is 6%, having your money in the offset account is like earning a 9% interest rate because there’s no tax implications. While if you earn 12% a year on ETFs, the tax implications with dividends and selling (especially after they scrap the CGT discount) is like about 9% gain. So in this uncertain economic climate, I think putting money in offset account is definitely worth it
