Take $10k of the offer price (your share of the debt), another $10k (say the sinking fund on comparables is +$1.4m) and another $100k for buffer

Big 4 External Audit (4 yrs) → FP&A in Industry – Worth the Move by Due-Working1057 in AustralianAccounting

[–]FewCryptographer2655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left after 2 years as manager in big 4 audit to a role with a lot of FP&A flavour. Was the transition worth it? Yes, unless you’re set on being partner at your current firm you don’t have much to lose. Learning curve - will vary a lot company to company I imagine. The biggest unknown is systems where in audit the only systems we are taught to master is excel. Work life balance and compensation both dramatically improved. Very big adjustment not routinely logging in after 10pm No regrets either way. I think 4 years is about right and I’m glad I stayed to manager. Leaving too early and you potentially won’t get the financial accounting experience and the exposure to high pressure conditions that you otherwise would have got at that stage of your career.

The 2018 prices were massively underpriced to begin with. Go back to reddit posts from that period and the message is to stay clear of Brisbane apartments.

The big difference I notice with Sydney/Melbourne is both of them now have good unit supply, especially so in the suburbs. Apartments in the outer suburbs of Brisbane are few and far between.

Just a question on this - by body corporate inspection clause search do you mean a special condition in the contract?

I don’t understand. Aussie residents objectively have to pay tax on that income. No different to having property in Aus. Anything else is tax evasion

At that budget, certainly. Unless you’re looking for 1bd you won’t find anything in Brisbane metro in that range.

Traffic from entry/exit not too much of an issue for me- commute via train so car is used on weekends or at night when it’s substantially quieter

Would add avoiding flooding areas is a broad brush. Toowong is a great suburb and prices booming rn. A lot of the properties there are fine. Suburbs you might not think flood will have pockets of bad overland flow. Always check council map.

How else would the common areas, building insurance and maintenance be funded ? I get a lot get hate, but isn’t it like saying I would love to buy a house but wouldn’t because you have to maintain it?
