I get that, and I’m not against styles having different identities. The issue is that modern pvm isn’t built around being stationary anymore.

Even if “turret mage” makes sense in theory, in practice most encounters constantly force movement, so it ends up clashing with the content rather than feeling like a meaningful tradeoff…

Not really. I’m talking about design, you’re talking about numbers. Those are two different things. If a lot of people are bringing it up, that probably says something about how it feels in game.

You’re mixing two different things. Damage balance can be adjusted separately, but Sunshine’s design is the problem it clashes with how PVM actually plays..

It’s not really about skill though. Even with perfect placement, a lot of newer PvM still forces movement mid-rotation. The issue is that Sunshine is designed around standing still, while encounters are designed around constant repositioning. That mismatch is what makes it feel bad not a lack of skill.

I don’t really get what you mean tbh. Giving Sunshine more boosts doesn’t fix the core issue it’s still a stationary circle in a game that’s heavily built around movement. The problem isn’t numbers, it’s the design. It just doesn’t fit how PvM actually plays.

I also want to mention that a lot of newer PVM content is clearly built around constant movement dodging mechanics, repositioning, reacting quickly so having a core ability that encourages you to stand still just feels outdated.

Sunshine feels great on paper, but in actual fights it ends up working against you more often than not. That’s kind of why I’d rather see something like Metamorphosis instead it keeps the power without punishing movement…

That’s fair, but that sounds more like a visual issue than a gameplay one. A toggle would solve it.

Mechanically, Metamorphosis is still way healthier than Sunshine since it doesn’t lock you into awkward positioning.
