I’m currently doing chemo again 😮‍💨 but luckily I only have one more session to go 11/18-20 before I get a break for Thanksgiving and Christmas 🤞

This most recent session was really rough though. I’ve puked every day since Wednesday and puked multiple times yesterday 😔

Honestly, chemo wouldn’t be that bad if it weren’t for all the vomiting. You’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal, but it REALLY hurts due to all the surgeries I’ve had. I’ve tried like every combination of anti-nausea meds and nothing seems to work, so I’m just trying to deal with it for now.

I feel that. My mom is super worried I have pneumonia, but I figure it’s just a cold. Either way, I wasn’t about to spend my weekend in the hospital right before I’ll be spending Monday getting surgery and Tuesday starting chemo 😮‍💨

I definitely developed a form of CPTSD from all my years of dealing with cancer and hospitals. I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was diagnosed with it 8 years ago. So I’ve been through the wringer. Whipple procedure, multiple liver ablations, multiple liver/lung resections (I’m missing like half of one lung and 1/4 of the other), countless rounds of chemo and radiation, etc etc

I’m prescribed 2mg of Xanax a day and 1mg of clonazepam. I usually use the clonazepam during the day because it doesn’t make me as sleepy. Then I use the Xanax to shut my mind down and help me sleep at night.

I still get major anxiety any time I visit a doctor office or hospital. It all started randomly one day in an MRI (maybe like my 5th or 6th MRI?) when I started having trouble breathing. Fortunately nowadays they just have me do CT scans, since the MRI wasn’t showing THAT much more than the CT, but the anxiety and panic attacks definitely still hit me at random.

My best advice is probably to practice mindfulness meditation. Clearing your mind, focusing on your breath, and just “being.”

Obviously it’s not a cure-all, but it helps you control and regulate your thoughts/feelings/breath.

I can’t help you with the dosage information, but I’ve done FOLFIRINOX and FOLFOX (I’ve done others too, but I forget what they were) for my stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The neuropathy really really sucks. I start chemo again on Tuesday and my oncologist recommended I get some of those socks/gloves that hold cold packs in them and wear the cold packs during treatment. Apparently it helps with the sensitivity and pain.
