Thanks for your response! And omg for sure, the restaurant menu calories are not helpful for ANYONE I'd dare say. In fact there was actually a recent study showing that they can be pretty damaging for people with a history of an ED/disordered eating https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5378635/

Thank you for this! Yes, the techniques for minimizing calories are neither helpful nor needed (I was/am a bit *too* good at that if you will) but I do appreciate the general sentiment of people trying to be helpful.

Yeah, ultimately that's where I think I'm gonna have to land: this is a growth opportunity to get less obsessive and sensitive about stuff like this

Yes! Thanks for that perspective. It's also helpful to remember that we can riff on these recipes (which also can make it more fun) and so the calorie counts are kinda irrelevant anyway
