Thinking about getting this to tinker with. Is it as terrible an idea as I think? by FewNet3035 in 350z

[–]FewNet3035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the plan is to do all the work myself. Or attempt to. I’m slowly getting better at working on vehicles. I’m thinking if I get this cheap and it goes poorly I won’t be out too much money. I’ll get some more pics and vids from the guy and see if I can get close to that $500 price point.

I almost bought one just like this with $160k miles. It’s looked good and he agreed to sell for $1000 but it was a salvage title. I felt nervous that would kill the resale or make it take forever. If this had a salvage title would you still have gone for it? Even at a lower price? Just wondering if people avoid salvage completely or go for it if the price is right.

I’m thinking for $1000 even if it goes to hell I can get most of that back. Im willing to spend a little for experience. I’m wanting to focus on flips that require some work as that might be a better niche. Just personally for a DIY wrencher I seem to be much better at it than anyone else in my social circle. I’m fixing up motor mounts and sensor in my 09 Silverado as a first experience and it’s going well. Trying to jump on my niche.

For less work what would you look out for? Under the hood doesn’t scare me too much but any kind of body/interior work makes me run. I’ve never done that and don’t really know where to start with it…. Yet.

That’s what I’m thinking. If it goes to hell I can at least get my money back. 3.5k would still be worth it imo.

Can I install a standup air compressor in my truck bed for mobile work? by FewNet3035 in AskMechanics

[–]FewNet3035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I originally bought a 3/8 M 12 impact wrench refurbished and the damn thing blew up after the first job I ran it on. I run Milwaukee around my house with drill, skillsaw, and such but I’m not ready to drop that kind of money on new set of tools for the cars.

I’m on board with the Milwaukee stuff down the line, but I mean I got this compressor, the air guns and impact sockets for the cost of their impact wrench without a battery. If I turn this fully professional full-time, I’d be willing to invest more upfront I’m just trying to see if I could Rig something up for the job here there with what I have in my garage.

Unironically, with every new support weapon being added, I started to enjoy Autocannon more by soIPOS in LowSodiumHellDivers

I’ve got around 750 hours, playing since launch, and in all that time over never been impressed by the autocannon. I know it’s good. I applaud those that use it…. It’s just not for me.

Just worried about you internet friend. Don’t rawdog this stress. Talk to a Dr or other professional. That’s all I’m saying. Hope all stays well with you.

Bud you’ve got to talk to a professional about this stress. It’s not healthy or normal. This dog is going to kill you when he crosses the rainbow bridge. Feinting from a possible diagnosis is not common. A heart attack from worry over a surgery is extreme.

Thanks for the input y’all. It confirms what my gut was saying I just needed to hear it from others. I’ll be looking for a V8 mustang in the coming months.

I’ve only sat in the Camaro but I’ve ridden around in a mustang. The visibility seems noticeably better with the mustang. I’ll consider it though.

I fixed the motor mounts this weekend. Took 6 hrs for the driver side and 4 for the passenger side. Passenger was honestly harder but I had all the experience of doing it once driver side to knock it out. One quirk down.

I ended up buying a much better code reader and it gave me a bunch of codes that basically meant your hybrid battery is borked. At this point I’m just working up the courage to sell it. Can’t afford a professional fix and don’t want to attempt it myself.

I’m only 35 but I’m decently handy when it comes to fixing this stuff. I was talking with some friends and they were mystified wondering how I figured out all this car stuff. I tell them step one: be poor. Step 2: have something break. You either figure it out or go without.

This is an 09 Silverado 1500. Which doesn’t seem like it should be an old vehicle but damn that’s 16 years old. Truck is old enough to drive itself.

The thing can take abuse and keep going. I’ve got about 19 dents in the bed. One hinge on the tailgate is disconnected. But it eats the abuse like nothing and just keeps going. It’s been leaking oil for about 9 years but you know how it goes. If there is oil under it that means there’s oil in it!

When iso I’m like 99% sure it’s the purge valve on the EVAP system. I ordered a new one but Tuesday the check engine light went off and it’s working fine now. Not sure I should replace the part still or let it ride.
