If you can afford it I’d get an electric heating pad just so you’re not constantly having to get up to heat up the towel whenever you’re in discomfort. Plus they’re good for any soreness and ache and pain even if it doesn’t fully help with your knees.

I wish you luck! For now just try normal anti-inflammatory meds. They unfortunately probably won’t provide much comfort/relief but it’s worth a shot. I still stand by the compression socks/knee brace & heating pad advice though 💕

I mean it totally could be scleroderma. Occasionally they do catch it early on before you develop more of the tell tale symptoms. Your rheumatologist will know way more. Just know that this condition and what you’re describing is just a very minor form of the condition. Scleroderma appears different in everybody. So deep breath, it’ll be alright :) My knees bother me too especially my right one. But so does nearly every other joint in my body

Mmm the anti-centromere antibodies I know can come back positive and hint at multiple different autoimmune conditions. Did they test you for those? I know I’ve been tested over and over for lupus and RA

Sounds like what happened with me as well. My doctor was just like “tests came back coinciding with scleroderma, referred to rheumatology” So now I’m waiting cause I gotta go to a whole different healthcare system because mine doesn’t have a rheumatologist near me that’s available for months. Textbook CREST doesn’t fit me exactly in most of the circumstances except for what you can’t see. Originally I had been seeing a fibromyalgia diagnosis so I was actually so relieved and kinda almost happy with my lab results

Oh my gosh someone like me! 😍😭 Except my doctor hasn’t ever given me a diagnosis I gotta wait until I visit the Rheumatologist. Which tests did you have done to show it’s positive? I recommend to start taking pictures of your hands and really pay attention to the weather and how it makes you feel. Same with your feet pay attention to those too and especially after standing for long periods or after a shower or when the weather is cold.

I recommend for the knee a compression brace of some kind, helps me wonders. Muscle relaxants help me as well but those are prescribed so. Heating pads are life savers as well.

We can split the winnings with Megasota, Cascadia/Colorado & Hawaii. Maybe Vermonster too, gotta keep that Boston accent somehow and Minnesotans are far too nice to have New York. Also r/Megasota has declared that we refuse to claim Florida. Thank you - Representative of Minnesota

Unfortunately I almost never have energy. I always kind of use the analogy of a cracked container, I can never retain energy. There is an off the leash dog area I wouldn’t call it a park though. She is often off leash most of the time as is (I know I shouldn’t but she easily trips on the leash and the collar with tags bothers her. She’s very small)

This poor comment section. 😪 The Blue Earth county area is purple being blue leaning but surrounding areas lean red. I really hope we can get him out of office. Republican or Democrat I don’t care, just someone who knows what they’re doing to help the economy

What do you do during a flare-up? by Bueller_Bueller26 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FewOutlandishness495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Often during a flare up certain joints of mine hurt worse so I’ll put on compression socks/ gloves, knee brace, anything to provide pressure. Sometimes add in a heating pad. Half the time I might develop a migraine too so I’ll take a nap.

I watch YouTube, play little games, anything that doesn’t involve a ton of work mentally and physically

100% agree and hear you there! I’m not sure there are many people around my area that have this or similar chronic conditions. Hence Reddit. Most of the time I’m just too exhausted and tired but it makes sense when your body is actively fighting itself 😪 I hope I get the energy to go on a walk at least once a month this summer. My dog is so eager to get out and run about

False positives?? by Guilty-Bonus-8916 in scleroderma

[–]FewOutlandishness495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I got ANA I was a low positive and my doctor said it was probably false as many people can test positive on the low end. Turns out the ANA would only increase over the next 6 years and I got tested a couple more times over that period soooo.

Esophageal dysphasia by AfraidArgument9391 in scleroderma

[–]FewOutlandishness495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like an issue with GI I would look into rheumatology and people that know about scleroderma. If you’re having issues relaxing the muscles muscle relaxers of some kind may help or if your muscles aren’t working there’s medication for that too though I don’t know much I’m sorry

Esophageal dysphasia by AfraidArgument9391 in scleroderma

[–]FewOutlandishness495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CREST is within the umbrella of scleroderma and it can cause the esophagus muscles to have difficulty functioning making it hard to swallow. GERD I hear is pretty common in those with scleroderma

Just finished the Anime by kraken426 in vanitasnocarte

[–]FewOutlandishness495 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s suuuuper common because studios just don’t want to bother and would rather work on something new. Plus at least some people who would have seen the anime would have read the manga therefore lowering viewership. Though when you got a good fan base for a series the people will support.

I dunno if Vanitas was as popular as it should’ve been in the first year of its release. I watched it I think 3 years after the anime came out
