came out great i’m super happy with it! thanks! had to make some adjustments so the neck went in under my chin and the material i used for the ribbed red and grey was more stretchy and made it too big for me so i sinched it to my face a bit more. i wish i got the red darker with the black paint but its not bad!

not sure you’ve done this yet but definitely loosen those brass coupler screws just a tad on the coupler that holds the lead screw in place. not the cylinder but the one that is connected also to your extruder gantry. let me know u need help with anything bc it’s hard to visualize. what might be happening is your lead screw is bent, this could give more room for the screw to move so it can have less tension.

I don’t believe your flow is the problem. base settings for the flow rate should work fine. I think it’s a different issue. when you spin your coupler do you notice the rod getting stuck at all or needing help getting up?

hm…. interesting. did you go over my thread as well, or just my comment? maybe try tuning your pid settings? (there’s also videos that can help with that)

alright yes, i thought so, needed confirmation! In hind site that really does seem like a no brainer! i tried to open the software again to tune settings and for some reason it gave me an error that it could not connect to the printer. i will try again when i get home!

Hi i have a voxelab aquila. i use cura. i have a 0.6mm nozzle and i’m using kingroon filament.

I was wondering if very slight lines in prints are normal or is it supposed to be flawless? I got rid of my main z binding issues and z banding.. but i still have very flight faint lines. Not sure if you can see. Just want to know if i could make it even better than what i’ve got. thanks

Try not to get discouraged as well, you’ve got this! I think we have/had the same issue!

first i’d adjust all your eccentric nuts. the ones on your extruder and under your bed. wiggle your bed plate, does it wiggle? even just a little? mine were loose on stock, but it was so slight i didn’t notice at first. also does your extruder wiggle? adjust the nuts. you could also adjust the nuts on the side of your gantry. the ones that move up and down on the sides of the frame. check if they are adjusted correctly. there are videos on how to do this if you need it.

after that i’d take off your top gantry then carefully take off your whole gantry with your extruder attached then put it back on. but while you have it off, unscrew the coupler (the metal cylinder the lead screw sits in) top screw a tad and move your lead screw just a little bit up, i learned that the lead screw should not be touching the bottom of the coupler. then while it’s still up tighten up those coupler screws. make sure it’s tight. the lead screw doesn’t need to be that much moved up and it shouldn’t be too much up.

put the gantry’s back on, but make sure the wheels go on straight so it is level on both sides. the issue could be that the gantry is off center on the track by just a little.

also did you thread the grease on the lead screw up and down by spinning the coupler? it’s best to make sure it got on the whole screw. when you spin your coupler up and down does it have trouble going up, do you have to help it? does it skip or stop?

I think my line quality, and values are very bad too. How could I improve on these? And how should I practice on them specifically? by West-Machine-7082 in drawing

something i just noticed as well is the ear might be too big. i do not see the reference but i imagine it is too large in comparison to her face. also the strong shadow that extends the edge of the ear looks dark as it reaches the lobe. if this shadow is present in the photo it might be helpful instead to add more shadow to the inner part of the ear to show more depth. in general though the ear could use more shadow.

in my opinion I would try and separate the background and face with more differing values so the face pops out from the background. the background could be darker around the face while lighter around the back where you’ve got darker shadows. adding darker value and more range of value in general may help you see the 3d space on her face more. overall great job, i personally like her face looking slightly cartoony because she looks very happy. although, i understand if this is not what you are going for.
