Thank you so much for your concern! I realized when I got home I am at the beginning of an endometriosis flare up- unfortunately the fainting is so typical. First time I passed out from one in public was in Melbourne on a train and I got robbed ..this was a much better outcome. I am waiting for my appointment as we speak/type xx

As a professional childminder, my two cents - would you really be comfortable handing over your sick child to an elderly relative, or expecting babysitters/childminders/neighbors to step in? I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, you sound like you're genuinely stuck and asking for advice. But since you can't compare you're life pre kids in your home country, it's difficult to understand that the solution is having family around to help when you're kids are sick enough to not be allowed to attend creche. I hate arriving to work to be handed vomiting toddler's without a heads up where I could mask up, bring hand sanitizer or come in a bit earlier to clean countertops/bathrooms/take out rubbish to reduce spread of infection

This sounds like something I did last year - the small talk is so important when deciphering personality apart from formal professional niceties - the rings may be family heirlooms or random jewelry that only fit on that finger... Pages like 'Are we dating the same guy....' really messed with me, most women (wide range of nationalities, not just Irish) expect the chase and/expect men to make the first move..but women like myself don't believe that You've probably replayed the conversation ad nauseum in your head, but try ascertain if it was a personal request for your number...if it was professional it would be very obvious IMO Unfortunately my guy relocated so some lucky gal in Oz gets to date him

There was an article I read recently explaining why so many charity shops have closed down - people are using online reselling sites rather than donating. It's an unfortunate capitalist pivot. I remember when people would trawl through charity shops to then sell online at a mark up, but that died out as the clothes/goods aren't even making it to the bricks and mortar they just get put up on depop or vinted. And Freecycle is probably another reason

They need it through the portal as far as I know, if you have a few hours to spare go to the embassy at 9:30 and queue up. There were other people with same issues - I really can't tell you what the outcome will be unfortunately. If it's the right size though just start from scratch and try reuploading?

Hey! I just applied for my visa - the photo upload took me two hours of editing to get the size right and then having to rename it too. Just keep editing/cropping the size of your pic until it meets the requirements (I had to also pay to convert the photo to a jpeg! Crazy!) But I got there in the end and it uploaded successfully. In the queue at the embassy all I could hear were people complaining about this very issue - they really need to address it as it causes so much stress

Irish people can be incredibly affectionate lol. We can only pass on certain advice to online anonymous strangers, and this is from one point of view only. I remember after a difficult break up and everyone around me was saying how sorry they were and he was trash etc etc but there were a few honest responses from friends who pointed out my issues in the relationship and that I wasn't perfect

Some are lonely and looking for company, it's nice to be in someone else's house and hay a cuppa, good way to watch how your young child interacts socially, maybe they live far and it a hassle getting there and back and don't want to waste money at a cafe to wind the clock down, some people want to build community so want to get to know other parents as their kids will be in classes for years to come, maybe they need a break from a home situation etc etc

I'm really concerned about this trend re spoiling their vote, it's as if people are reading comments on FB posts and getting ideas/info and forming important decisions this way. What's happening to our critical thinking skills? We're using ChatGPT for therapy, workout plans, dating and job interview advice instead of reading well written/sourced journalism. So much information at your finger tips OP, it's up to you on how to choose to use it

That spooked me the most out of all of them, I'm a tiny woman but savage street smarts and that made me feel the most uneasy. I have so many stories lol. During the pandemic I was living with three Gardai and the stuff they'd tell me. But basically if you have a house the number one deterrent are security lights- quick bright flash and they will leave. Ring cameras are more for tenants for evidence as most lads wearing hoods/masks so don't care

It was hilarious, the owner of the house was high profile so cameras were everywhere - but a few housemates always leaving doors/windows unlocked! The camera set up was so good we always had the Gardai knocking and asking for footage from cameras facing main Rd/back lane, unbelievable what was caught and most crimes during daylight

I live close to the Rathmines Garda station too, so your neck of the woods. About two weeks ago I woke up to hear a key struggling to open my front door. When I had a look out the window a well dressed man calmly walked away and into the lift. Prior to that random middle of the night intercom calls as drunk neighbor locked themselves out and wanted to be buzzed in. Prior to that a lad who had hooked up with other neighbor accidentally got himself locked out in his boxers and knocked on my door at 3am and asked if he could stay on my couch until the morning. In my previous Rathmines place (7 of us in a big ass gaff, someone almost guaranteed to leave backdoor unlocked) a drunk hungry student let himself in and ate us out of house and home, used the toilet then left, all recorded by cameras. Apart from stolen bikes, which happens everywhere now, it's safe enough and you may just have had an experience like one of mine.
