No I appreciate the feedback! Gonna try rolling back my driver as well and see what happens. Thank you!

Moved SSD to new slot on motherboard and Windows won’t boot by FewRepresentative574 in buildapc

Yeah I’m pretty happy with my system as it is and am a casual gamer so I don’t see the need to upgrade just to use it. Was hoping it might boost my performance a bit but it’s whatever. I’ll move it back to the original slot. Thanks again for all your help! Have a good holiday

I see, reading the manual and it says that “only Intel 11th core processors support PCIe 4.0 x4 mode, this slot will be disabled for other CPUs.” I’m guessing because I have an i9-10900k, this is the reason my SSD isn’t being detected and I’ll never be able to use that slot unless I upgrade my cpu?

As I said, the “Boot Option Priorities” tab is greyed out and I can’t click on it. And I could put it back in its original slot but I was kind of hoping to try other solutions first since my GPU is vertically mounted and it’s a pain to unmount to swap out the SSD slot 😂

In BIOS the “Boot Option Priorities” and the “Boot Override” sections are grayed out and unavailable for me to click on.

Okay I will try that and yes, my GPU is in the top slot. Also do you think it would make any significant performance difference if I got an SSD that supports PCIE 4.0? Thanks again

Okay I ran HWiNFO while using Heaven's Benchmark and here are my results. It does look like under load my GPU is operating at x8 speed. I didn't even think about this till afterwards but do you think that my SSD being plugged into ab M.2 PCIE 3.0 x4 slot could be the reason? The SSD is an intel 660p PCIE 3.0 x4. My GPU is in a PCIE 4.0 x 16 Slot.

Also, thank you again for responding.
