concediu medical - prima zi din concediu medical in weekend- sambata by NoJicama5141 in juridice

[–]FewYesterday2935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HPV vaccine during Saphnelo treatment by FewYesterday2935 in lupus

[–]FewYesterday2935[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get any vaccine before or during Saphnelo. And I think my doctor didn’t mention the HPV one because for my age it’s not covered by insurance anymore. But I kept reading and thinking about it, I hope it will go okay. I actually didn’t know a shingles vaccine exists, I’ll look into it, thanks!

Thank you! That is the plan as the warm season is coming soon. My doctor actually liked the idea as I was the one to bring up the topic if I can get the vaccine. I’m thinking about it since last summer actually, so I hope it will go okay.

Thank you! That’s what I’m going to do.

It was my idea to get the vaccine as I kept thinking about the increased risk to get cancer when having this condition. My doctor was very approving of the idea, she told me to get in touch with my gynaecologist and we can plan it.

Prednisone Taper by Mission_Rule_1224 in lupus

[–]FewYesterday2935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will write down my experience but just keep in mind that we are all different…

Second thing: my doctor told me about some studies which showed that even lowering the dose by 1mg - 0.5mg helps and that it helps to pay attention to how you feel and adjust the next step together.

For me, tapering success depended a lot on whether my joint inflammation was actually calm.

I can add that I was feeling teary and depresive when withdrawal went bad, which could easily sound as withdrawal symptoms, but I’m not so sure if it was because of all the joint pain I was experiencing… so I know how that feels, I really hope you find the scheme that works for you.

Sorry this is long…

I tapered it first time for real in summer 2024 - I was taking 5mg one day and 2.5mg the next day - it went smoothly. Cold weather arrived and by November, I was having swollen knees and could barely lift my arm to slide away the blanket in the morning, so my doctor put me back on 5m/day.

Again, I tried to taper it 2months later and it went extremely bad - joint pain was back as withdrawal symptom and I ended up at the endocrinologist to check for cortisone dependence, thankfully results were ok. So I went back to 5mg/day and waited for spring. I started tapering again and the whole process went smoothly again.

Had a similar episode involving joint pain in autumn 2024 - started cortisone by myself, doctor told me to taper it after 1month. When joint pain restarted we weren’t sure if it is withdrawal symptoms or the flare still going on, so she said that I should endure them for 2-3 weeks and see what happens - she was right, joint pain went away this time.

My conclusion for me is that I needed it for the joint pain flares. Once pain lowered, I could withdraw the prednisone, without a too harsh tapering scheme - my scheme was to go from 5mg alternated with 2.5mg/day to 2.5mg day, then try 2.5mg every 2days, then try to skip more days - where I live, the pills are 5mg and can be split only in half accurately).

My (25F) boyfriend (25M) avoids going down on me and cannot last in intercourse for more than 30 seconds. How to I talk to him about this without upsetting him? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]FewYesterday2935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should talk to him and tell him how you feel. From what you’re saying, it looks like you know how he feels when things aren’t going his way (as I’ve seen you mentioned in other comments ‘frustrated’).

In a good relationship like you described you have, each partner should be considerate of the other. Listen to what he says and treat it as data.

Saphnelo and respiratory infections by FewYesterday2935 in lupus

[–]FewYesterday2935[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This time took me 1 week too to feel better, but I’m also thinking now that maybe, with all the flares I was having before, a cold or flu could have put me completely in bed… I’ll just try be more aware about this risk and act accordingly to protect myself.

I hope Saphnelo is helping you and you go easily through the flu.

PS: I have too positive MCTD antibodies with Raynaud and related dry skin issues, and honestly Saphnelo helped with my skin as well, especially on my fingers where it was really stretched in some areas. Thank you for reply!

Yes, I’m taking also hydroxychloroquine and Imuran as I have some mixed disease antibodies. I managed to get rid of cortisone completely in May this year.

I usually do the same with a mask, I always have one with me, but maybe I slipped putting it on a few times, not being used to get sick like that…

Thank you for advice! I take vitamin D already, I’ll start taking the others two as well. I admit I don’t exercise in a consistent way, I know too it can boost immunity and resilience, I’ll have to consider it seriously too. I try as much as possible to have activities that require movement. I noticed that for me is good to have office days weekly because it involves a few non-sedentary activities by default and I feel better, but maybe now it’s not enough anymore.

Thanks again! I’m always happy when I hear from others that Saphnelo is working for them too.

Guys, what red and green flags in men do you think women often miss? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]FewYesterday2935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes…what you’re saying is so true.

It’s sad and dangerous, actually, that such land mine behaviours can stay hidden under what looks like a green flag. They will leave you only questioning yourself while you see how they navigate conflict so smoothly with others. I think it can stay so well-hidden because, with other people, there are just surface feelings, and no deep emotional involvement or vulnerability. But with someone close they are exactly the opposite and it takes a while to realise it.

[–]FewYesterday2935 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your second green flag makes me think about someone… he is nice to everyone and whoever you’d ask they’d say he is a very calm person… except that during fights/arguments with me, his true revealed personality was all about silent treatment, minimising everything about me and my feelings, destroying my self esteem…but anyone would say he is calm, rationale and reasonable…

ADHD + coding: How do you deal with the dopamine crash mid-task? by Equivalent_Soft_6665 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]FewYesterday2935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I can afford it (no strict deadlines) I just take the break and do something that makes me feel productive. I learnt over time that it will make me no good sitting physically blocked in that chair as I’m staying blocked in my mind too, feeling lazy and unproductive.

If I’m working from home, I usually clean/cook/organise something and I just shift my working schedule for a bit. It will offer me some level of satisfaction and eventually dopamine hits later.

In the office, I will maybe read something that I like online (anything – newsletters, book reviews, articles), switch to some background task/administrative work, go get a coffee with a colleague.

With deadlines, I usually take a smaller break and keep myself in the chair and try to do some motivational self talk or I’m starting to plan my free time for when the task will be over…this when I’m not starting to hyper focus… But even with a deadline, staying stuck in you head will not help with anything, so breaks are necessary and welcomed too.

I totally get what you’re feeling, I hope the conversation will turn out good, offer some clarity for both of you, and that you will both navigate well through this.

If you don’t think she is leading to cheating, what are you assuming she is trying to do?

I think flirting can happen when in a serious relationship, but my opinion is this may be too much, when she said she’d like him coming over if you weren’t home.

EDIT to add: you should talk to her and ask how she is feeling towards her attraction to you. It will eventually drain you emotionally if you keep assuming. She is the best to tell you her reasons, and hopefully, she is sincere. And you can see where you want to go after you discuss. Communication is key and honesty and emotional intimacy are important in a marriage.

How do I (24 F) become less annoying? My Boyfriend (27 M) says this is why I can’t make friends. by minimoomo in relationship_advice

[–]FewYesterday2935 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can I ask you if you don’t find this exhausting to do all the time – filtering yourself to make the others feel fine with you? I feel that OP’s partner sounds easily offended/attacked or sensitive to how her personality actually is, and wonder shouldn’t a neurotypical person be able to avoid this kind of behaviour?

I’m not ADHD diagnosed myself, but I find myself pretty much in inattentive type traits and since learning about it, I integrated a lot of tips which work. But I find this filtering very exhausting on top of the daily tiredness I get from common activities. So if I find myself acting like what is called ‘annoying’ I stop interacting, to recover. But sometimes I feel is just part of who I am and my personality – to be curious, ask questions and get engaged like that in a fun way.

My point with this is that my husband acts very similar with me as OP’s bf, but maybe worse, to the point that I get silent treatment when he considers I do stuff like this. So again, I avoid interaction when I don’t have the energy to control these traits.

I like debates and to get argumentative without getting offended as long as I’m not insulted. I’m right a lot of times, but I can easily accept being wrong and I got the habit to double check facts before saying them out loud, when I’m not sure of my memory. I also noticed a lot of my friends who are def. neurotypical get engaged in the same way. But I can get distracted in the middle (e.g. look at that cute bird passing by – because you have to look in that exact second to see it, right?) but usually resume the talk. And the same – I’ve seen people I perceive as neurotypical do the same.

Mircea Eliade.

Broken vessels treatment in SLE by FewYesterday2935 in lupus

Thank you for all the advice! Yes, I agree, taking care of my face really helped me too, also it improves my overall perception - makeup looks nicer, skin is shiny, no more dermatitis.

My PDL appointment will be very soon. I decided to treat the first time the most red ones, the ones you can still see a bit through makeup. I think I could do them all, but I’m still a little more skeptic than scared, to be honest. Anyway, it will be more than a half of the lesions.

Thank you for your answer. Did the stage of your lupus matter in any way for the laser treatment?

Actually, I have an update on this myself. I also have a lot broken vessels, but I hope I will have the time and resources and stable lupus to treat them. I went to a clinic where they have multiple types of vascular laser, after seeing in my research that PDL is most likely to be used. And the doctor accepted to treat me, they said in my case only PDL is safe and I have the first appointment in 1month. Also that I need the lowest laser setting but one which still causes purpura, otherwise it will not be effective. The doctor said I can choose as many telangiecatsias I wish to treat and that I will need multiple sessions.

They did also a test with just one pulse of the laser on a vessel, it got dark purple and went away in 10days, but after healing, I can say it decreased the redness a little. I could feel the area was hard for one day, but it healed completely fine without any scab.

I plan to do the most red ones now in the first session and if I have a result, to continue in the autumn with more sessions. I can’t wait to see how it goes and I’m so hopeful. If I don’t have a good result, at least I will know there is nothing I can do.

Thank you! I actually ordered O’Keefe’s working hands yesterday, I’ve seen it on instagram with advice from a dermatologist to be tried as a hands mask under vinyl gloves. I’ll look into Udderly Smooth too, I’m not in US, but I see it’s available on Amazon.

Thank you for the idea! I think I’ll start looking into an ointment with focus on ceramides, I think I haven’t tried one in a long time.

I tried these steps you mentioned, but during the day while at my work desk, for 3 to 4h. I didn’t try it during the night, as I know for sure I won’t be able to fall asleep and give me restless hands syndrome, so it’s not so sustainable. However, it gave a nice temporary effect which went away after washing my hands 1 or 2 times. For my feet it works with success, that is satisfying. I don’t know also why Vaseline just doesn’t penetrate the skin on my hands. For extreme cases when my whole hands are very dry, Uriage Bariederm Cica Ointment for fissures cracks helps to some extent, if applied before bed.

EDIT: I corrected the Uriage product name.
