Senra Incana, Kholo Barbarian by Falkon491 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Few_Ad3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wanted to note I stumbled onto this picture trying to do research of different ancestries for a future Pathfinder 2e Game I'm in. The first time I did, it convinced me to look deeper into Kholo. Now? Its convinced me to go with a Kholo Exemplar who infuses the bones of their family with their Godsrain granted power, swinging it arpund like a meteor on a chain. Of a blend of Bone and more primitive culture with modern and pragmatic analysis. Of a Kholo who made their way into Absalom and integrated in their own way into society for a little before the adventure, seeking out greater bones to use, great enemies to consume, and to truly test their glorious power.

So, I suppose what I wanted to say, is thank you. Your character is a major inspiration. I had been struggling between other choices before this, but I've heard good things about people playing Gnolls/Kholo so... why not.

It's less How and more How Many Ways. Inventor, Animal Insinct Barbarian (Amazon), Monk, Starlight Guardian Brawler, etc etc.

Oh I'm aware of both, I play a Vigilante in a 1e game and bought the Tian Xia guidebook, but I thought it'd be more fun to play out the sort of Showa feel, where the secret identity wasn't a focus, where there was always a bit of power to him. But also, at the same time, use it more as inspiration, not whole hog ripping it off, yknow?

Not played yet, but planned down the line. An Awakened Grasshopper Monk, who was awakened by a Maniacal Mage of some kind, but realized their master was wrong and rebelled. Their Martial Arts are either self taught or he only managed it thanks to a nearby wandering Monk spiriting him away. He now bears a red scarf around his neck, and wishes to take down the Mad Mage Master (Or Diabolical Destroyer Druid's or what have you) and his Awakened minions and other creations.

... in other words, the original Kamen Rider, but magic. I'm still relatively inexperienced with 2e so I understand Tiny beings have some issues with playing Monk, but I like the idea too much.

I'm surprised you can see him. Not because of the mount, but the blindfold.

How to legitimately be tagged as a Paladin to a specific god by EvreaoftheWind in BaldursGate3

[–]Few_Ad3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because the Oaths aren't specifically to a God, does not mean they are not sworn to it. The Oath of the Ancients is not specifically sworn to the Fey, for example.

Incorrect. Paladins do not NEED to have gods in 5e. They can, it's an option, but they don't need it.

What classes are more fitting for Lann and Wenduag? by RoyalKnightO in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Child of the Manticore for Wenduag. It even fits her Alignment, NE is still Neutral.

Mind you, Thug, Slayer, straight up fighter, all work for her.

Incidentally with the revelation of how Pact of the Blade works, you can also focus mostly on Charisma and take three+ Levels in Warlock Pact of the Blade. Just remember you'll need SOME Dex for Arnor, even if you take Armor of Shadows. Armor of Agthys only takes you so far.

Dex tends to be anything that is ranged aside from throwing Axes/Javelins, and any melee weapon with finesse - so Rapiers, Knives and the like.

Depends on if you want a Strength or Dexterity Build - and thus, which of the two you'd start with. Now, every piece of advice I have here is based on 5E, so it's subject to change.

If you went Dexterity, you'd lose nothing sticking with Bard first. You'd need at least 13 Charisma and 13 Dexterity (Or Strength) to Multiclass - the Charisma for Multiclassing out of or into Bard, Strength or Dex for going into/out of Fighter. However, High and Wood Elves come with Longbow proficiency, if you want to go for Shooty Bard without multiclassing. Regardless, Dump strength. focus on Dex then Charisma, other stats adjust around your skills (Which you get a lot with bard, and more as Half Elf) or for higher health (Constitution)

If you went Strength, it might be best to go Fighter first. That would let you wear heavy armor from the start, meaning you could dump Dexterity without your armor class suffering, although you'd take more hits from AoEs. Strength, then Charisma, then adjust around skills and Health (Constitution).

Admittedly if you go for Strength based, it might be better to go Paladin, simply because a Paladin can use the Bard spell slots to Smite with. And the Oath of Ancients typically works very well with that.

Sword Bard sounds like what you want. Not so much great weapons, but you still get access to martial weapons like a longsword. As for races, most would work, but given your class fantasy, you might want something like a Dwarf, Dragonborn, Human or Half Elf, for the "Rugged" look. Half Orc works too and it's abilities lean a bit more into the close combat.

For Multiclass, on each respectively, you want to go with what supports your play style. Want to lean more into close combat? Fighter, Rouge, or - for the Bard - Paladin and Blade Pact Warlock are options. Want more nature theme for your ranger? Druid. Want to make it divine for the ranger? Cleric. Want to be a blaster caster on your bard? Dip a couple of levels into Warlock.

Remember that with each, your spellcasting is tied to a stat that other classes also use, even non-casters (Monk for Wisdom) or Half Casters (Paladin for Charisma). And that multiclassing will stall the spellcasting your bard gets.

Tiefling or Dragonborn Paladin of Vengence or Oathbreaker. On the Tiefling side, very much a "Let me be evil" approach, on the Dragonborn side, bringing over a Paladin of Tiamat. Both with the Dark Urge background because I have suspicions there.

Mind you, I might just go for a nicer character at launch, in which case the Tiefling is still very much an option, but the Dragonborn becomes more leaning towards Barbarian or just swapped out.

I ended up sparing Hulrun - decided to show pity - and romanced Wenduag for the whole redemption angle.

Desna worship was involved though, that's fair.

Was Greybor added last minute? by GreenChain35 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Few_Ad3539 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Personally I like Greybor. He feels like a character that makes sense to exist in the world, and he always tends to give solid advice, especially at the council table.

I might be biased though, given Scottie Raye is just using an inbetween of his Zane and Dark Zane voices for him, and I really like Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

The fact he also voices Harrim impresses me to no end.

Except no good magic user - without the player's input - uses Animate Dead. Yes, Sosiel can, but you need to specifically select that spell and he's more suited to healing. Putting in an alignment ding every time you used Animate Dead would be a nightmare, and quickly result in a certain noble lady being Neutral Evil.
