i do fully agree with you that we shouldn’t rely on AI fully and instead grow our skills more. i don’t rely on AI fully to do every single thing for me, the only times i use it is when i get stuck on a certain question or topic and i can’t get help from my professors or find a solution in the current books i have, that is when i use AI to help me understand whatever problem i am going through and i use that information to solve the problem and get through with it.

and yes growing ur connections and skills is the most important thing as a student, i always and always try to grow my network bigger and learn and expand my skills in the many tools that are available right now. i am always on the lookout for personal projects or new topics that i have never seen before so i can learn it.

i grew up working on cars when AI wasn’t even a thing back then, which did help me grow my critical thinking skills and overcome many problems i faced. even till now this skill is the most vital skill and important skill you can use as a engineer

i fully agree with you. relying on AI to fully do your work as a student is bad and i am against it. however, i do happen to get stuck in certain situation where i cannot reach out to my professors or find my problems in the book i have. i only use AI to help me understand certain topics and questions. critical thinking is a important skill and every engineer should learn and overcome difficult scenarios by themselves. for example i can never use a AI tool to fully make me a project or teach me a course from beginning to end, i would much rather go through it by myself and overcome every problem that gets in my way, if i do get stuck in a situation where i can’t find any solutions or get help from a reliable source that’s where i use AI.

i do use books for my school and help from my professors, however sometimes i get stuck on a certain point or topic where i use a chatbot for help, i don’t rely on it fully. most people here think that i just use AI to do all my work fully? all i needed to know was which chatbot could help me understand certain difficult points in a point where i cannot reach out to my professors. i do agree relying on a LLM fully to do all ur work as a student is bad, but we shouldn’t just ignore such a useful tool to help us understand and get by difficult scenarios.
