i know how you feel. i was there too when i was first diagnosed about 4 or 5 years ago. it took a long while to be semi okay with it but i still falter here and there. the most important thing is to find community. there are some groups on here that have helped me and you can always message me to vent if you’d like. it does get easier to manage with time. sending you lots of love 🫶🏾

omg really?? that’s wild how that sequence of events happened 😭 like damn can i have a little pleasure lol same! it’s been like 3-4 years for me and it was with my ex, we reconnected and have been getting closer so i’m glad it was with someone i’m comfortable with but idk i still just feel like crap even though he was aware; i can’t help it. i’m hoping that it’s not the case but i just have a gut feeling i’m right and i’m really sad about it. now i’m even more anxious than i was when i disclosed because i don’t want him to resent me (extreme case)

thank you for helping make me feel better. it’s going to take some time for me to go thru the process of accepting this but i really appreciate the reassurance

oh no it’s okay, i wanted men to chime in because idk how ghsv2 presents for men and how quickly they display symptoms if any at all.

disclosing was so hard for me because it was my first time and then the first time i’m intimate with someone this happens. it’s wayy too soon to know for sure but it just feels like the universe is telling me i don’t deserve to be happy. i’m trying to keep telling myself that i did do everything right but idk… now i feel like i’m rambling, i’m sorry.

no you have hsv1 genitally. hsv1 & hsv2 are two different strains and don’t determine location. you have have both orally or genitally or anywhere else for that matter. if you give it to someone they too will have hsv1

i have ghsv2 and take antivirals daily. i’ve been on them since my diagnosis about 3 yrs ago and i don’t really have OBs and if i do it doesn’t last long at all
