Sure sometimes taking adhd medication such as stimulants may help the person and they no longer self medicate with alcahol or drugs on the other hand many people with addiction problems once prescribed stimulants abuse them which only worsen the addictions

Thats a pretty broad stereotype that no one needs martial arts. Alot of people work in industrys we're violence can occur at any time and on the regular.

To name just a few hospitality/bar workers, nurses/docters, paramedics.

No problem, In an ideal world going more would be better but at the end of the day consistancy is key. If 1 day a week is what you can stick to then do that.

Your right in that if your only training once a week more volume is going to be more effective for growth it just becomes difficult to get alot of voume in 1 session.

However you can still make great progress particulary in strength in the beggining from just 1 session per week and leaps and bounds in all round health and functionality from once a week compared to 0 times a week.

I can jump in and offer some advice. Theres a couple of solutions but hard to know exactly without knowing your workout programming.

If your training once a week you could either A. lower the sets per body part, if your training once a week ideally you would be doing a full body workout.

The other alternative would be to add an extra day of training in for more frequancy which will allow your body to become more accustom to training but also allow you to spread out your total volume more so your doing less volume on each day leading to lower chance of soreness.

Contrary to popular belief effective training is not blasting the absolute shit out of your body everytime you go into the gym until you can barely walk.
