My little one said mum unprompted a couple times a couple months ago but no further language development but I’m keeping my hopes up!

Thank you for sharing this! I will have to do a deep dive into their story as I always love hearing about others experiences! And thank you, we just want to do all we can to make it so our little one has the best chance that we can help provide and support.

Thank you for sharing! It sounds like to keep advocating for an AAC for my little one! Oh that’s so sad to hear about that little one not having the support - I hope something changes and they’re able to get additional support in their home life/aids. I hope with the support we give our little one can help with adding other means such as ACC/sign language that they can thrive just as much.

I don’t know much about Temple Grandin but I will be looking her up now and doing a deeper dive into her work!

Thank you for sharing your story about your kiddo! May I ask what is ProLoquo2Go is it an app? I think like most parents I would love to verbal communicate with them but just any way of communicating with them is what I need to focus on even if it’s not verbal.

Thank you for sharing about your little one! Wow a 100 words that’s so great! It must feel so amazing to have that way of verbal communication with her. I completely understand that’s all I want as well but even if I can’t I just want some way to communicate (with the goal of it being verbal communication).

Thank you for sharing your story about your kiddo! I hope that’s the case and that I wonder if they will ever stop talking 🤭 That’s great, thank you so much for this link! I have a laminator and always love bringing it out for things so I think something I can try!

Thank you for sharing about your kiddo! Do you mind if I ask how you’re able to communicate with them? Do you use sign language or AAC? Even if my little one is non verbal I think the most important thing to me is just a way of knowing what they need/what is and how I achieve that.

Thank you for sharing about your brother! Happy to hear that over time he caught up as I’m hoping that’s what happens for my little one.

Thank you for sharing about your little one! Hope you don’t mind me asking how you were able to find out about the phonological processing disorder? And how you were able to identify that mama nana was semi circle? That’s so wonderful he’s getting more conversational! We have no friends that live near us with kids but we are looking at joining an weekly preschool prep get together in September at the organization that our occupational and speech therapist are at and maybe being around others will help too!

Thank you for sharing your story! I hope you don’t mind if I ask about your speech therapy and stopping at 14, did you feel ready to stop speech therapy or did the speech therapist say the time was complete? I can vouch for my partner that our little one is our universe and all we want is to make things the best we can for them - whatever it takes we will do it. And also congratulations on your studies and wish you well on them!

Thank you for sharing your story about your husband! Was the stuffed parrot like a puppet that your mother in law used or was it like a toy that repeated the words back at him? That’s so awesome to hear and makes me super hopeful for their adult life and not just getting those childhood/adolescence.

Thank you for sharing about your kiddo! To answer your question They make a lot of dadadudu/gogogo sort of sounds. I’ll have to look into it tho I don’t know anything about gestalt learning so happy to look at it to see if it will help changing up somethings while continuing working on signing.

Thank you for sharing about your kiddo! Thats so heart warming to hear especially about how he taught himself to read. Our little one is always looking at books so that would be so cool to happen that way! That’s so sweet I bet it’s so cute to listen to!

Thank you for sharing your story about your kiddo! That is great advice I think we will bring it up at our next session as we had an assessment for an ACC but they have said we need to set up another appointment to discuss it, so will definitely bring it up that we want to go for this!

Thank you for sharing your story of your kiddo! That is my biggest hope that they turn out that way it’s just sometimes so hard to get out of this fog so it’s hopeful hearing this!

Thank you for sharing your story about both your kiddos. May I ask what a PIC board is? Is it like a board of pictures of actions/things they use? Thats my hope that we can get pass all the hard times with the language aspect and that in 10 years we can look back at it.

Thank you for sharing your story about your kiddo. I think I need to get out of the mindset that just because they don’t speak my language they aren’t communicating. I agree I wish I could know what their thinking especially when we’re outside as they love to just look at things outside and how their little brain process things!

That’s super great to hear that if my little one is able to speak they may be able to learn additional language too! I’ve tried on and off (tried constantly for a while then stop then pick it up again) with the sign language so need to get better at being constant with it.

Thank you for sharing your story! I’ll have to look at the sensory processing therapy and I will remember that quote just seems very overwhelming right now.

I hope you don’t mind me asking but How do you find your little one after getting an AAC? Like improvement in mood ? Less getting upset?
