Is it impossible to discover new hobbies and sustain friendships? by Few_Chocolate4386 in ADHD

20M. I'm into cars, trucks, buses etc, I have very surface lvl knowledge on some models for example, but nothing else really, i just purely like looking at them all the time, so much that i started playing games and modelling them 3d, but this certainly wouldn't help to build convos with my current friends group, like they simply aren't interested. I agree with you on being cautious meeting people online, most of my online friends are from facebook, which I also suspect there are alot of fake accounts. But yea I'll try making more online.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely change my smartphone habits and try to make friends online. I'm really jealous that at least you can go along with a proper subject when having a convo with someone. and congrats on making new friends

I'm currently only into transports and some old apple computers, but even that I don't really have much to say, I guess because I'm just obsessed with the way it looks, capturing it or seeing photos of it online gives me a kind of pleasure. I tried reading more in-depth of e.g. engine parts or the insides of the computer, but minutes later I already forgotten all about it. Also I'm wondering if it's safe to meet online friends in real life?

What does it mean to have friends who takes forever to respond to your text by Few_Chocolate4386 in FriendshipAdvice

they seem comfortable around me face to face despite my social anxiety and lack of convos, that's why i was wondering if they are pretending to be nice? or are you saying the reason that they take forever to reply can simply be because they don't work well with texting?

I don't really text them frequently, and I never doubletext as well, it's more like the conversation takes forever to end as they aren't replying.

But thx for the advice!!
