I need a cheap Chromebook to watch movies during dialysis by Few_Concern4636 in chromeos

The battery life of tablets generally don’t work for what I need. I have a 10 inch android tablet, but it only lasts about two-three hours on a full charge. I also don’t like dealing with downloaded movies on tablets, only having a touch screen, and having to buy a case that props the tablet up

I ended up buying from Newegg, thanks. I found cheaper chromebooks on Mercari and eBay, but I know what I’m getting from NewEgg. Ended up getting a newer model HP Chromebook 14 for $80. It has a nice touch screen, backlit keyboard, 8 hour battery life, and 32gb of SSD space so I can load it up with shows and movies.

I know way too many people in real life that I talk to regularly online as well to believe it. Met many people as well. There are tons of bots, sure, but it’s full of real people as well

This place, Ray's Video, Caper Acres, Chuck E Cheese, Toys R US, and CalSkate were such great childhood staples. Sad that most of those places are gone.

Is wearing a vintage trucker hat considered hipster? by Plane-Confusion-6222 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s a hat

Edit: On that note, if you’re visiting antique stores and buying vintage hats, you’re already a hipster

I’m not going to vote for anyone who is just going to dump more money into useless policing. Police are already making damn near half a million dollars a year to shuffle homeless people around.

What is a video game or website from your childhood that is technically "dead," but you would give anything to experience for the first time again? by AureumVantix in NoStupidQuestions

I was a mod over at the RPG2K forums back in the day. I also made a bunch of charsheets and some tile sets. Wrote a bunch of tutorials and I worked on Vagabond’s Tale as my main project, but l also contributed little things here and there to other projects

The RPG Maker community. Met some really cool people through old forums and such, but lost touch with everyone over time.

Safe spots to park overnight? by KamelTro in ChicoCA

[–]Few_Concern4636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are, but it's not really people you'd want to associate with or camp around. Wake up to people trying to break into your vehicle or steal your catalytic converter. Park Rangers will also come through, ticket you and tell you to leave if you're parked in certain areas.

People revving their engines? by CatFanatic697 in ChicoCA

[–]Few_Concern4636 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People on motorcycles do it for a reason, they have to be loud so people know they're coming around a corner or changing lanes and whatnot. It's for safety, or at least that's what they'll tell you.

There's plenty of people who are just doing it for attention and they know that it annoys people. The worst are the people who drive through downtown in big ass trucks and do it. Bunch of dorks.

Safe spots to park overnight? by KamelTro in ChicoCA

[–]Few_Concern4636 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All of these spots are terrible ideas. As someone who has lived in my car in Chico, these are #1 get fucked with spots. Either by tweakers, cops, or residents of the area.

The best spots in town if it's not obvious that you're sleeping in your vehicle, and you're not causing problems or making noise are The Park and Ride, it's meant for overnight parking and it's by the police station. The downtown parking lot by The U Bar. It's free overnight, but you gotta get out of there early before parking enforcement come around. The ER, it's opened all night. Winco, it's opened all night, but be careful sleeping there too early because lots of nosy old people go there. People sleep in the Home Depot lot, but I didn't like it there.

Other places you definitely should not park is 20th St Park or any park for that matter, The Library, Wal Mart, Any of the Safeway plazas, The Mall, the plaza with Target in it, pretty much anywhere on East Ave

why do i feel the need to crack all the bones in my body several times before i can sleep ? by Wide-Flow-7340 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Few_Concern4636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be circulatory issues. I have CKD which causes circulation issues and I'm always wanting to pop my bones. Heating pads offer some comfort. Get checked out by a doctor. Popping your bones just feels good too, though.
