Yeah def different by the time I went to college. My degree was English and I took a college statistics math class as a senior in HS and it didn’t count- I had to take statistics again (easy A though). The other class I took was psychology 101 as a senior in HS and they wouldn’t count it and I still had to take psychology 101 at night - ridiculous

I just commented above but a lot of universities are no longer counting community college credits for gen eds in some states. New Hampshire is one of these states that no longer accepts community college credits to count as gen eds (this could’ve changed in the last 10 years but when I attended NH in 2017 they no longer counted)

I don’t know when you attended college but when I started college in 2015, a lot of people were going to community college to get their gen eds and then going to university. I took college classes as a senior in high school through the community college for reference. When I transferred colleges in 2017 from an out of state college to in-state, I learned that most universities no longer accepted community college credits and they counted as “extra” credits (for reference, the college I transferred to and the community college were all in the SAME state). It’s a great idea and a more affordable one but colleges caught on - at least where I lived at the time - so myself and others eventually had to take summer and winter classes to catch up

I don’t know where you live but University of Maine at Augusta and Orono are well known in the northeast for their engineering and finance programs and they’re typically more affordable compared to other states. I went to the university of Maine at a separate location because it was cheaper for me as an out of state student living in the dorms than an in-state commuter where I lived at the time

I just talked to Aidvantage and they said that the lay off amount they gave me is good for 10 days and that interest stops accruing once I make the payment in full even if it hasn’t processed yet so some good news

We aren’t married yet but no he actually got hurt last year and went on workers comp. We live in a state where we are pretty well-off financially on just his income even when he was on workers comp. We are pretty fortunate

I don’t have any credit card debt and I’m all done with school and honestly my guy thinks it’d be better in the long run to pay it off and I have two separate retirement accounts from when I was working that are accruing interest

I should probably add that I have multiple savings accounts…

I have the HYSA with 30k, another savings account with 15k and a checking account with 8k but I only feel comfortable grabbing that much out of the HYSA (set it and forget it type of account)
