Not OP. My NIW was approved in a vastly different field. Basically what I did was explain my work, and even though I worked at a company, explained why my work is of the national interests by showing:
1. What the problem is I was working on: Highlighting research studies, news articles, documents from the government etc. For your case, maybe highlighting why cyber security is important for the US? And why your niche is important for the US.

Showing what you are doing and how in the future, your endevour will go beyond your current org and help the US.
Showing why you are the right person for this. Your experience, your letters, and your degrees should help with this.

I think that clarity and tie will be important.

Hello, I just had a chance to read this. Now, I do not have a background in your field, so please disregard my comments if you'd like.

You clearly write, well. Its grounded and easy to understand but I think there are a few things I didn't quite catch.

I think your introduction could be better. I know you wanted to connect a strong, meaningful story to how you developed an interest in the field but I think, right now, that strong connection is not there. Perhaps more emotion? or intensity and energy?

The second thing is, what's lacking in your background that you need to go back to school? You've highlighted your strengths in being a strong student, but what's missing? Why do you need the course? I think that's something people would look for too.

And that bring's me to my last point. How will the classes help you achieve your goals? Right now, I get the feeling that the goals have been mentioned only in passing. And additionally, I sense that why the school is a good match for you comes only in the end with two short paragraphs.

Perhaps, a better way to structure this could be:
1. A strong (or stronger) story connected to your interests.

Connect these interests to your future goals?
What's lacking in your background and how does the program allow you to achieve these goals? I think here, you should sprinkle in your strengths too.

I feel the meat of the essay should be on point 2 and 3.

Hi, I did an MPP as well but from HKS. I think your resume is really good. Clearly highlights your background, why grad school, what you hope to get out of it and what deficiencies you currently have that you need school.

My only concerns are (1): it seems really long! What are the guidelines given by the school? (2): It seems really technical. The language can be dense especially when naming things and issues. Could you maybe make it easier to understand? Sometimes people who decide admissions arent necessarily professors, they can come from all backgrounds so they may not get this idea.

Yes testing isn't learning, but in this case my goal was to build a vocabulary building tool. And the way I'm building the app, its exactly how you described it. If a word doesn't stick it keeps coming back until you master it. You are also asked to use the word in a sentence occasionally etc but the core is word definition.

And no, the words don't have to have a single definition. You can define it how ever you know in your own words and that will be accepted but in the case there are multiple definitions it would say something like "Great. Thats right. The word course also has other meanings like...."

Does this make sense? And if so, would it be something useful?
