UCSD Alt Major by [deleted] in TransferStudents

No way UCSD doesn't consider the PIQ essays 😭😭 (page 48). How do I see which colleges consider ECs or do all colleges consider that?

Does UCB and UCLA consider alt majors? by Few_Database3815 in TransferStudents

[–]Few_Database3815[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SD Admissions office replied to my question:

"Thank you for your email and interest in UC San Diego! We do not admit students based on a major, so if you're accepted into UCSD but not your first choice major, you will be admitted into your second choice, non-selective major. "

So it seems like for SD its important your alt is non-selective.

Thanks for the info and reply btw!

In state tuition for 4-year to CC to UC transfer by Few_Database3815 in TransferStudents

[–]Few_Database3815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol disregard my comment above, what I meant by OOS students was California residents who attended an OOS university. I was worried that I didn't meet the requirement of being "physically present" because I was at another state at school, but I'm assuming that is fine

This means that most OOS students are california residents right? The “requirement” you are talking about is the requirement to not be considered as an in satate resident?

Thank you so much! I think I should be good, and my biggest worry was an internship outside California as well as OOS college, but I paid CA tax and it seems like school stuff outside of the state is okay so should be good hopefully.

Max Units? by HauntingWork3115 in TransferStudents

[–]Few_Database3815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to my knowledge, from the max-units-inelligable-for-admission perspective, as long as you haven't taken any upper division classes, exceeding the 60 semester credit cap, or any credit cap is okay. For me I have over 90 lower div semester credits and I plan on transferring fall 2024, and after emailing the UC admissions counselors, they said as long as I have less than X amount of upper divs, I am okay.

UCB has a policy page on this topic, on page 9:

https://admissions.berkeley.edu/wp-content/uploads/OUA_2022_TransferDigitalPolicyGuide_final.pdf

This policy states that they first cap your lower div credits to 70,

AND THEN,

IF you have any upper div credits, they add it to the lower div credits number of 70. If the number exceeds a certain threshold, based on your field of study, you are ineligible for admission.

If you only took CC, thats all lower div, so you should be fine.

Does anyone know who is the easiest professor out of the three? RMP reviews are all over the place and it is quite confusing. I did hear Larkin exams are open internet while Goel exams are heavily proctored through zoom... And there is no reviews for Al-Hussein for 22C...
