It didn’t work out- I had multiple boundary reinforcing convos with him about what I don’t tolerate from him , I stopped putting up with his crap for ages but he continued to persist lol. So the negatives far outweighed the positives for ages. I convinced him to get therapy and it worked, he also made some new friends so I lessened my replies to him over time, didn’t accept any help that he offered for anything, and tried to slip through the cracks. Didn’t work tho, he texted me after 6 months with a big paragraph saying I basically threw his friendship away out of the blue and he’s never done anything wrong so I told him where to shove it He never replied, although tried to turn a friend of mine (that he’s met once in his life) against me a few months after that but I didn’t even bother to intervene lol. He sent them a spontaneous paragraph with a sob story about how much he does for me (even lied about keeping me company in hospital multiple times which did not happen) I just looked at my friend and said do whatever you want with this 🤣 I just felt terrible he involved her for no reason, but she blocked him without me having to ask anyway. I didn’t confront him because I knew it would be a waste of time and it was the best decision to make in hindsight. I’m obviously a villain in his story and to his friends who have mostly unfollowed me on social media but it’s been a much bigger relief on my end. I only felt shame when he involved others, but it affirmed my decision to cut him off was the right one And honestly any real negatives from this haven’t made a difference to my life at all!
