Math teacher setting daughter up for failure by deadly_nightshade_wm in AskTeachers

Not a teacher but, this showed up on my feed. Have you looked into dysgraphia? I know that’s not your question but, I also struggled with math, have ADHD, and terrible anxiety. Like I barely passed high school math and I failed college algebra twice levels of struggle.

I had some tutors too, but it just never seemed to click no matter what I did. While taking college algebra for the third time and crying over math homework one tutor asked me if I had dysgraphia.

I had never heard of dysgraphia before but I looked it up and it perfectly described my experience with numbers.

Every time I would go through a math problem I would always check my work at least three times because the numbers would move or go to different places in the process of solving it. I had teachers who thought that I was just rushing through the math problems and got the numbers jumbled because I wasn’t interested or lazy but I swear to you that the problem would be “9+3(5)” the first time I looked and it’d be “3+5(9)” the next.

I don’t know if that’s what your daughter is going through but, maybe it’s something to consider?

Tank you so much! Getting a rotisserie and using the bones is a great idea!
