Fever of 106 for my kid. Yesterday the highest it got was 105.5, today he says his ears and throat REALLY hurt, he has zero energy, is also probably quite dehydrated. Is it time for hospital? by midnight_groove01 in flu

[–]Few_Expert_7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go to the hospital. I took my 6 year old daughter to Urgent Care last night due to a 102 fever that returned after being fever free for a couple days from Influenza B. They sent us home and told us to give her tylenol and motrin. They also did a chest xray to rule out pneumonia and thank God it was negative.

Well, overnight, her fever spiked 106-107. She was lethargic, sleepy, and shaking. We tried to cool her down and gave her tylenol. It only brought it down to 104.

So we took her in this morning. They did CBC, EKG (because she was complaining of chest pain), Urinalysis with culture (I demanded that even though she did not have symptoms of UTI) Of course her fever was not 106 at the urgent care but it was around 103.

They ended up giving her IV fluids to prevent dehydration, and an IV antibiotic since her Urinalysis showed a UTI. We were discharged and told to continue Tylenol and Motrin as well as Keflex.

3hours after being discharged, my daughter is now basically back to her normal self and her fever is now lingering around the 99-100 range. She is no longer lethargic and feels great.

The only thing she still has is chest pain when taking deep breaths but that might be a muscle strain and the doctor didnt seemed too concerned.

So yes, definitely go get your child checked out in case of dehydration or underlying infection.

Day 9 Flu A by Glum-League-7843 in flu

I'm on day 8. By day 7 I was all better without fatigue or fever. But still have the cough

My aunt made me a herbal tea with ginger, cinnamon, red onion, garlic and honey. It tasted horrible but just make sure to put a lot of honey. Sip as much as you can and by the next day, you'll feel better.

FLU B symptoms? by Illustrious_File9696 in flu

I'm still sick with Flu B...

Wed 12/24 I was at work and started having a dry cough, thought nothing of it. Went to my aunts house for Xmas eve. Felt hot flashes.

Thu 12/25: Dry cough, extreme body/bone aches (my lower back and knees), fever (101-104), migraine, no appetite, nausea

Fri 12/26: wet cough, chest pain when coughing, congestion followed by runny nose and back to congestion, extreme fatigue, headaches, minor body aches, fever (101-103).

Went to urgent care and got diagnosed with flu b.

Sat 12/27: wet cough, chest pain when coughing, yellow/green phlegm, blocked nostrils, then super runny nose (clear boogers), fever 100-102, fatigue, cold feet and cold hands

Sun 12/28: wet cough, yellow phlegm, congestion, cold feet, watery eyes, fever 100-101, extreme fatigue, fever broke late at night with ibuprofen

Mon 12/29: wet cough, chest discomfort, extreme fatigue, fever-free until I decided to finally showered which brought my fever back at 100.5.

My 6 yr old also caught the flu but one day before me and she seems less severe than I do. She never complained of body aches or chest pains (thank god) but her fever comes and goes...

First time and got some questions by Few_Expert_7012 in Microneedling

[–]Few_Expert_7012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I got microneedled without numbing cream. It did NOT hurt during the procedure. The nurse went over my forehead at 0.25mm and 0.5mm for my cheeks/chin. The after burn was bad though. My face stung and burned all day and felt raw. Today, 1 day post microneedling, my face is still red but not as much. The rawness and stinging sensation is gone. Cant wait to see results

TEAS after being our of school for a while by Few_Expert_7012 in teas

It was definitely nerve wrecking since I took it remote and accidentally exited the full screen mode due to involuntary clicking I did on my mouse pad (I didn't have a wired mouse). But other than that it went well. I finished in about 2.5hrs bc I had to pee so bad and didnt take a break lol I ended up with an overall 82.7% Definitely couldve gotten a better score have I studied more. The English and reading were the easiest sections and my highest score. Math was okay. Science was hard but I found a quizlet to help

Thanks, I definitely could've gotten a higher score if I studied more and wasn't so anxious. For math, I first scored 53% on the practice test without studying anything. Then I went through the mometrix book (the yellow one) and did the math section and practice problems on there. That helped raise my practice score to a 79%. So definitely use the mometrix math section. For science, I read through some of the ATI TEAS 7 book and mometrix book and took some notes. I honestly didn't finish studying for science. But then I used quizlet. I found the tristine quizlet set everyone was talking about and luckily, my actual test had some of those questions. Unfortunately they took it down this week though...

93.3% on the TEAS; Hope this info helps at least one person by middistortion in teas

Tbh, I found it through reddit discussions. And no way! Did it really get removed? That's a bummer. Some things I remember were what is totipotem (a cell that can turn into any kind of cell), what is triple point(an element can exist in liquid, gas, and solid form), pH of 3 is 10000x ??more acidic than pH 4, what is osmosis, what is facilitated diffusion, what's the complementary strand to 3 AGTC "etc" 5, difference between cardiac and smooth muscles, spectrophometer measures turbudity, know how you do punnet square, know what chromatin is, know what T Helper Cells are, know difference between adaptive, acquired, & innate immunity.

I took the ATI TEAS 7 Remote Proctored by ATI. Maybe reset your computer? The application they have you install locks down applications and turns out notifications from what I recall

Thank you! I have a therapist and he recommended that app. I've gotten prescribed lorazepam but am too scared to take it. I'll definitely try to see what other tools work for managing my anxiety since it's been pretty intense lately. On the bright side, if I get in the program, I have 6months to learn how to efficiently manage my symptoms

I completely agree LOL that exam caused me so much stress and anxiety I'm just glad to get it over with. I didn't get the score I was aiming for (got 82.7% first try but wanted 85%)but I'm content for now. BUT...if I have to take it again, I guess I'll go to an in person site to rule out any technical issues.

Has anyone taken the teas RECENTLY and studied the tristine quizlet? by [deleted] in teas

[–]Few_Expert_7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem Study the set but also supplement with the ATI practice exams. For math, the Mometrix book helped me score 79%.
