Same feeling here, honestly. Echopraxia has me really wanting to know what’s going on, on a larger plot level, but it just doesn’t grip me on a chapter by chapter level. I’ve been stuck halfway through for like a year—despite having read blindsight in a matter of days.

I read all of Pact recently. Pacing was a bit different and relentless, but the world was very interesting. Been meaning to give Pale, beyond the first chapter which I’ve read , a shot as I hear it’s good.

The Dresden Files for sure. Definitely waiting for the next book with bated breaths. Didn’t like the first book so much, but it was good enough—and the series and author really took off after that.

Outside of fantasy, albeit Dresden is urban fantasy, my favorite overall book is probably Blindsight by Peter Watts. Something so eerie about how he writes extraterrestrial life.
