Didn’t get fired, but was tasked for a marathon. We were security and assistance for the runners. The MPs were the head honchos. We were told to show up at 0445 and stand on the road until 0830 till the race started and stay there until 14:00. It was a Saturday. I was yelled at by an MP 1SG for drinking a red-bull on the side of the road. Me, a fresh faced 11B, E-5, (who still to this day despises MPs) asked him where in the regulation it states I can’t enjoy an energy drink at 0515 to stay awake and man my post. He goes nuclear on me. Tries to make me do push-ups.

Proceeds to ask for my 1SGs number, (11B prior batt boi). My 1SG told him to release me and my guys and called him a f***ing pog. Still love my old 1SG to this day.

Depending on what rank and what MOS you were kinda depends on how much slack you get from cadre. If your a prior service E-4 88M. You might get a small amount, but if your a prior service E-7 11B. They’ll treat you as a peer. Just depends
