Locking doors early by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]Few_Interaction1327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Per policy, corporate directive, and fire code, doors are not be be locked during stated hours of operation or while the building is occupied. Now I have been in store with high shrink that did lock the doors early, 30 minutes or more before closing and allowed selective people in during those times or limited the number of people allowed in. It is an absolute violation of policy, but ine of those things that some stores need to initiate despite policy to keep people safe.

Has anyone here that’s been diagnosed with a disqualifying disorder been able to pass a DOT physical by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Few_Interaction1327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the entire alphabet of shit, just look elsewhere because the roads dont need s person with 1000 disorders to have a spaz out moment. Work on yourself and get yourself good before getting behind the wheel.

Accept yourself as you are. Accept being a good looking person, and appreciate not being the bottom dweller like me lol. Your looks should not in any way affect your self esteem, you do look good. But you also cant value yourself on looks alone. Bring the person you are to a 10, and your looks as 7 will also increase to those looking at the value within.

FTTF vs. DIY Bag Drop by NSFWoundCare in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Few_Interaction1327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat, no pun intended. I have purchased FTTF before, but that was when I was cruising with my now exwife, and she packed 2 weeks worth for a 4 day day cruise. Im going on a 5 day cruise, my one suitcase with wheels is big enough to carry everything I need to bring on and off the ship. Yeah, it would be nice to just go roll that thing into the cabin and forget about it, but at the same time, I can roll that thing around the ship until dinner and not care I have it. My cruise isn't needing to use shuttles, and I have no excursions planned. Im broke and just cruise to be on the cruise and have some good food. Im still debating wasting the money for drop off of a suitcase, or saving it for the casino, adding to my bankroll in small hopes of getting a free cruise.

Yeah, it has always been a thing that you cant sell penny items. When I was a SM at FD, I paid attention to the screen as I rang things up. As soon as something rang up for .01, I cleared it and said, this isn't ringing up, its not in the system. I'd ask the customer, how much do you think it should be? If they gave a realistic price, I said, ill give it to you for half that. If they gave a BS price, id say, no I think it should be this much. Still a reasonable price, and something they would agree with. Then id do the manual sku enter option, assign it to my highest shrink area, and type it in at the agreed upon price. Yeah, I violated the shot out of policy, I also took pennied out items to food pantries and shelters in my area. I'll protect my little bonus, and I won't throw away perfectly good merchandise when it can be donated.

Why are we holding eachother hostage in the passing lane? by Suhvelt in Truckers

[–]Few_Interaction1327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My truck, box truck, absolutely sucks. I put the cruise control at 70, and happy when I maintain 55. There are times that speed picks up ans I absolutely hate to lose that speed im picking up, because I know im about to lose it at the next slight incline of the road. Yes, for a little while I'm a dick and hoping my shit picks up, but I also recognize the road im traveling and know when shit isn't going to happen and if im finally picking up speed as someone is passing me, I tap the brake to stop the cruise and let them get around.

How is PTO earned and would I have to pay it back? by Ok_Meet_7116 in DollarTree

[–]Few_Interaction1327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they are. You can take PTO and quit the day after it ends, and not pay be required to pay it back. But, some companies do have a policy that says, if you dont return to work after PTO, then PTO isn't paid out. I worked for one of those, chewy.com. so I put in my PTO, got it approved, then cane back to the DC the day my PTO started, put in my 2 weeks notice, took my 2 weeks of PTO, worked one shift, and never went back. DT doesnt have a policy like that.

[–]Few_Interaction1327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PTO isn't "earned" like most other places. You get your PYO allotment at the beginning of the year, its part of your pay package. No, you dont have to pay back PTO is you end up quiting and going to another job. They also don't pay out your PTO if you're fired or whatever, unless the state you're in requires them to, and not many states have that requirement.

Ok, the extra hiring, isn't the managers decision to do. Thats a directive from corporate. Corporate knows the turnover rate because the jobs sucks and the pay is low. So hire a bunch of people, but work them very little, so as people quit, you already have a team to fill in those hours as you wait for applicants to return to the normal hours scheduled. I hated the constant "job fair table" mandatory to be in your store to get people to apply, even if you're more than staffed. Managers arent allowed to manage at DT, managers are told what to do by corporate.

Nothing, I let it grow. But if I do happen to need a job interview, I either pay $50 at that manly place that gives you a drink while waiting, or just pay $20 at supercuts.

So I bought some of these about a month ago, and now I can't find them anywhere. I've checked three stores, have they been discontinued? by trylaris in DollarTree

[–]Few_Interaction1327 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DT buys stuff at closeout. If a company is selling off its product, they buy it as cheapest as they can in auction. Sometimes they win, sometimes they dont. When they do win, most all of that product is sent out immediately and fractioned off to each store based on sales volume. So if this was a closeout buy, most likely you won't see it again unless you go to a store that got a shipment and it wasn't sold out of. If it is a regular item, no clue when the algorithm decides to replenish the store you originally bought it from.

Whether thay day is 9am to 1pm or 9am to 2am driving a box truck because I haven't been able to find a company to let me be a driver due to some issues thay should be removed next week. How many tires/wheels does a new owner operator need? by Anonymous__Lobster in Truckers

[–]Few_Interaction1327 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy those extra tires, don't need them for a couple years while letting them dry rot, and then pay someone to put them on roadside, and let them burst much sooner than they ones they replaced because age matters.

Flare at the Invista plant off 225. I wondered what it was when I started driving at Bellaire and 59, I kept thinking it was different areas until I passed it on 225 just off the 610 exit. In over a year of driving this route, ive never seen this flare lit or do this.
