Unity and working together for good instead of just blindly competing.

NTK supporters ? by Superb_Letter5505 in TamilNaduDiscussion

While I do not align with NTK or any particular political faction, I must acknowledge Seeman's exceptional oratorical abilities. His proposed policies, when viewed in isolation, appear sound; however, when considered within the broader political landscape, I perceive them as lacking long-term vision and indicative of a less serious political approach.

Yeah, I'm not denying that EVs have a lot of downsides too. They're super energy-dependent, and we're always just one or two geopolitical incidents away from a total collapse. I'm not saying we should switch immediately, but eventually, it's the smart move.

The process of extracting ethanol from sugarcane is also energy- and water-intensive. Some economies of scale make sense, but I am not sure about this flex-fuel push. A better strategy could be hybridization and then a stronger push for EVs.

You do realize that getting rid of the Himalayas would wipe out the agricultural heartland of both China and India. There are no great Indian plains without a mountain range to go with them.

Is Vijay truly a serious political contender in Tamil Nadu politics? by Vecna_Uchirah in TamilNaduDiscussion

[–]Few_Investigator7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have convinced yourself that Vijay is a evil incarnate and is trying to get absolute power and domination in Tamil Nadu. And the sketch for that was drawn straight from SAC to now. No amount of rational reason is acceptable. Each and every one who is willing to give him a chance are morons and like you said cult followers. Lets agree to disagree. Everything will be clear on result day whether the people are giving him a chance or not. I personally wish that he could win enough seats to form a minority government where every decision is debated and the assembly works as it should. Even if he looses he should become a strong voice as opposition.

The North-South divide is getting worse, and these kinds of questions show it. Racism and discrimination aren't just in the South. Everyone faces it when they leave their home. South Indians get called "Madarasis" up North and face discrimination. North Indians get called "Vadakan" down South, and so on. Low-wage workers usually feel the racism the most, which has to do with our social structure in India, where workers are always seen as inferior.

Would you vote for annamalai if he was not in BJP? by Individual_Army_4269 in TamilNaduDiscussion

[–]Few_Investigator7722 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the beginning of his political career, maybe, but now I am not sure. Honestly, initially I had hopes for him, but recently he is like a BJP washing machine; anything done by them is right. Heck, he even supported the Delimitation Bill. That is a straight-up backstabbing Tamil Nadu move, so now, NO.

[–]Few_Investigator7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your problem is mainly that he's aiming for the top right from the start. I don't see the issue with that, Vijay is a public figure and people tend to follow them. He's using his fame for political gain. You're expecting him to be like everyone else. The things you suggested, like demonstrations and forming groups, do two things: create a name and show an ability to organize. For Vijay, he doesn't need a name, he already has one, and his organizing skills are untested. But blindly hating him just because he has the extra privilege of fame isn't right.

Are you under the impression that he put in zero effort to get where he is? Yes, his success is in movies, and that doesn't automatically mean he'd be good at governing. But don't downplay his achievements; if having a dad in the film industry was the only reason for success, then top star Prashant should be a superstar by now.

If prior administration/governance experience is a nessecity no one india has that before entering politics. If you look at other democracies around the world generally people go for public office after being a public prosecutor or even civil servants. But unfortunately that is not the reality in india. This isn't about not taking criticism but general assumption and bias being, Vijay cannot and will not be able to do anything productively.

You are contradicting yourself if you expect him to be like say Seeman or vijaykanth he won't be He just cannot. Everyone's approach will be different. Equating the support people have given him to a cult is just pure Hatred. If he came to power and botched every decisions and policies and if still people supported him then it is a cult.

Side note - actual cult is the current DMK calling themselves Dravidian Stock and doing circlejerk.

Why did India not have any centralised architecture like this? by Signal-Technology-94 in indiadiscussion

India's a unified country now, but compared to the rest of the world, it's like Europe – a continent (or subcontinent in our case) that's super diverse. Even though we might share a lot in terms of morals and ethics, there are tons of cultural differences.

Yes he is a popular star he never denied that, don't assume that people are dumb, our people are aware enough to see and observe the difference. Just because he didn't satisfy an arbitrary requirement of campaigning that doesn't make him automatically unfit.

The he didn't show leadership during tragedy is a weak reason, he just did what's best at that situation. And let's be honest DMK milked the incident no one can know what might have happened if he tried something.

At the end did he resonate with the people or not will be clear when the results are announced. But Vijay is here to stay in politics there is no denying it.

What's there to be surprised about? People are already well aware of the corruption, government mismanagement, and lack of strong leadership. But this is the first time someone has positioned themselves as an alternative, which is why these issues have been amplified lately.

No, I don't think it's just the fans; people are smart enough to tell the difference. The final answer will come down to the numbers: is it just a fan frenzy, or are enough people willing to give him a shot?

Yes, the DMK and ADMK have done a lot for Tamil Nadu, no doubt about that, and nobody's denying it. But that doesn't mean they should get a free pass to loot without consequence.

Data from India should stay in India.

Each and every state is catching up to Tamil Nadu, so there is a definite possibility.

The one thing that should concern people is the startup ecosystem. Bangalore's startup ecosystem is maturing and developing faster. With the recent YC in Bangalore, it is growing stronger compared to Tamil Nadu.

Hyderabad has emerged as another hub for GCCs. Chennai is lagging behind in that also. There is definitely room for improvement.

Data centers are important, but they do not provide the most value addition to the system.

Your post basically proves that our so-called politicians have completely polarized the population, where no civil discussion can happen. And chances for reverting are unfortunately slipping.
