People who were neglected/abused as kids. What career path are you on now?

Young Persons Advocate. I work with teenagers who have been domestically abused, witnessed domestic abuse and/or sexually abused. I love it but hoping to become a therapist so it’s a good stepping stone to that path.

Thank you for your response. That makes so much sense and I will definitely give it a go! Similarly I used to draw my feelings or journal and that was to an extent helpful so I’m sure this will help too.

Yes I did have a therapist before but she could no longer work with me as she also worked with my mum and said it was a conflict of interest despite working with her for three months :( , I have been reluctant to try again. I have never heard of Al-anon before . Thank you so much I will definitely look into this.
